January 12, 201412 yr Ok Soxtalk. I've have a little boy coming in a little over a month and my wife and I have had some friction regarding names. I have been very stuck on Frank Thomas as the first and middle name and we can call him little hurt. At first she was very resistant but its starting to grow on her, especially when I told her the second choice is Braxton Miller. However its good to have alternatives that arent today's ridiculous made up s***. We are very traditional, so no Lemonjello. She is half italian and half irish and i am 100% east German. Here is your chance. If someone comes up with something better than Frank Thomas, and frankly if it sells my wife, I'll relay the results. My last name starts with a B

My last name starts with a B After labor and all the contractions - Braxton will be the last thing she'll want to name the little tyke. Little Hurt 100%. Frank Thomas... He's an instant hero on every scool yard in the Chicago land area.
January 12, 201412 yr You know, I told my girlfriend that I would love to call my kid Frank Thomas (Last Name). But she said no. If you can manage it, do it!
January 12, 201412 yr Since you're a Sox fan and the wife is half Irish, what about Frank Cillian B. ? Cillian is a good Irish name. Could flip the first and middle as well. Edited January 12, 201412 yr by StRoostifer
January 12, 201412 yr Author QUOTE (StRoostifer @ Jan 12, 2014 -> 01:27 AM) Since you're a Sox fan and the wife is half Irish, what about Frank Cillian B. ? Cillian is a good Irish name. Could flip the first and middle as well. Although half Mick, shes much more of a dego
January 12, 201412 yr My drunk idea right now is that youcall ihim Curtis Thomas "last name". Then he can be called "The Little Curt".
January 12, 201412 yr QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 12, 2014 -> 01:30 AM) Although half Mick, shes much more of a dego You cracked me up with that! I'm not familiar with the dego names outside of what I've heard in movies like good fellas and such. I'm Scot/ Irish mix myself so I'm probably no help to ya. Early congrats on your baby boy, may he be as healthy as the Big Hurt himself.
January 12, 201412 yr First, awesome thread idea. Second, I feel like the only other obvious choice is naming him Rock Raines.
January 12, 201412 yr QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jan 12, 2014 -> 01:47 AM) Hashtag I jokingly tell everyone my moms new puppy is named Hashtag
January 12, 201412 yr QUOTE (dasox24 @ Jan 12, 2014 -> 01:56 AM) Second, I feel like the only other obvious choice is naming him Rock Raines. That's what I was thinking as well. Or at least Raines' first name Timothy. (Tim) Maybe Frank as the middle name.
January 12, 201412 yr This is hysterical. My friend was going for all sorts of sports related names with his son, but his wife was resisting. He sort of tricked her and they named him Francis Thomas, and call him Frank. By the time she figured it out, it was too late.
January 12, 201412 yr I think my fiancée would name a future son Jim Tressel. She worships him. I tease her and suggest names like lampshade or fencepost instead. I think if we have a child, we're going to use the name of our respective best friends, but I have a few others in mind. I like Adrian or Julian for a boy, maybe Audrey for a girl (although this one has grown a lot in popularity).
January 12, 201412 yr I've always wanted to do Jackson, but then it became a popular kid's name so I've soured on it a bit.
