Soriano has/had one of the best arms in baseball. He's regularly tops in OFers in assists (He's #4 among active players right now). UZR and DRS also liked his arm (especially when he first started playing the OF).

Assists don't equal good arm. It simply means more teams are willing to run on you. Soriano throws like a girl.

Range is more important than the fielder's arm in every outfield position. I'd rather have 3 Brett Gardners than 3 Alfonso Sorianos in my outfield.
