With a 15-15 league split, it's a necessary evil. I'd like it better if it were 12 games instead of 20.

Since they have them, I think it's the best way. However, I agree with you. Get rid of the divisions and just take the top 6 from each league and do playoffs with that seeding to get an AL and NL champ. Then do the WS.
