Oh, slim Chris Sale.

I hate Robin Ventura. Let's throw 500 pitches next outing and see how long it takes for him to recover.

I hate this. Yesterday I see a tweet that Sale is fine and all is well, and today it's gonna be that thing "oh, yeah he doesn't need DL he's not going on Rehab, no he's gonna be fine" and tomorrow it's "White Sox shut down Chris Sale indefinitely for elbow exploding in 6,000 places"

I just had the strangest visual of Chris Sale visiting 6,000 places and having his elbow explode in every single one of them.

"This is the time that my elbow exploded at the Kremlin. Oh, and here it exploded at the Eiffel Tower!"

Chris Sale hasn't been mishandled by Robin Ventura or anybody else.

I agree. Never been a fan of pitch counts (unless it gets absolutely ridiculous [Edwin Jackson-like]).

Pitch counts are one of several useful tools. The pitch counts on Chris really aren't that bad, though. 112 is high, but over the course of 4 starts it really isn't insane.

He should stay out of those places.

Any reports today about his elbow? I'm happy they aren't rushing him, but still like hearing if he's still having pain.

To me it just sounds like they are being extra cautious, no reason to get worried or any setbacks.

So, you're cool with him a) going over 120 pitches and b) going over 120 pitches when he's visibly straining?

Both those things happened and both are dumb as s***. Pitch counts aren't God's word but they sure as hell aren't meaningless either. I'm more annoyed that Robin left a visibly tired Sale in the game than the pitch count thing, but I'm pretty sure the brass had a nice quick chat with Robin about it.

They are just working on strengthening after the rest so the elbow will be strong enough when he returns.

He wasn't visibly tired enough to alter the mechanics at least Cooper and Ventura didn't think so and I think they know him fairly well. Injuries happen regardless of precautions. Otherwise I wouldn't have a job.

So you were cheering for Sale to get hurt?!?!? You asshole! ;)

If anyone is at fault here, it's clearly ptatc. He's been sabotaging players for his own profit for years!!

Chris Sale played long toss today. Scheduled for a bullpen session Monday. #WhiteSox

Probably a rehab start or simulated game. He has been off too long. The bullpen session is to see how he feels.

Good news

Chris Sale is playing looong toss. He's back at 180-200 feet or so. #WhitesSox Bullpen Monday will happen at Wrigley Field.

Best reason to go to Wrigley.

Hopefully he can come back May 13 at Oakland, and still make 29-30 starts.
