April 29, 201411 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 29, 2014 -> 04:33 PM) Dan Hayes @DanHayesCSN 2m Robin Ventura said its slim that Chris Sale would pitch Saturday for #WhiteSox. Oh, slim Chris Sale. I hate Robin Ventura. Let's throw 500 pitches next outing and see how long it takes for him to recover.
April 29, 201411 yr I hate this. Yesterday I see a tweet that Sale is fine and all is well, and today it's gonna be that thing "oh, yeah he doesn't need DL he's not going on Rehab, no he's gonna be fine" and tomorrow it's "White Sox shut down Chris Sale indefinitely for elbow exploding in 6,000 places"

"This is the time that my elbow exploded at the Kremlin. Oh, and here it exploded at the Eiffel Tower!"
April 29, 201411 yr QUOTE (Jake @ Apr 29, 2014 -> 05:16 PM) Chris Sale hasn't been mishandled by Robin Ventura or anybody else. I agree. Never been a fan of pitch counts (unless it gets absolutely ridiculous [Edwin Jackson-like]).
April 29, 201411 yr Pitch counts are one of several useful tools. The pitch counts on Chris really aren't that bad, though. 112 is high, but over the course of 4 starts it really isn't insane.

April 29, 201411 yr Any reports today about his elbow? I'm happy they aren't rushing him, but still like hearing if he's still having pain.
April 30, 201411 yr To me it just sounds like they are being extra cautious, no reason to get worried or any setbacks.
April 30, 201411 yr QUOTE (Jake @ Apr 29, 2014 -> 06:16 PM) Chris Sale hasn't been mishandled by Robin Ventura or anybody else. So, you're cool with him a) going over 120 pitches and b) going over 120 pitches when he's visibly straining? Both those things happened and both are dumb as s***. Pitch counts aren't God's word but they sure as hell aren't meaningless either. I'm more annoyed that Robin left a visibly tired Sale in the game than the pitch count thing, but I'm pretty sure the brass had a nice quick chat with Robin about it.

He wasn't visibly tired enough to alter the mechanics at least Cooper and Ventura didn't think so and I think they know him fairly well. Injuries happen regardless of precautions. Otherwise I wouldn't have a job.

April 30, 201411 yr If anyone is at fault here, it's clearly ptatc. He's been sabotaging players for his own profit for years!!
April 30, 201411 yr Daryl Van Schouwen @CST_soxvan 8m Ventura said rehab start for Chris Sale is a possibility.
May 2, 201411 yr Daryl Van Schouwen @CST_soxvan 11m Chris Sale tentatively slated to throw a bullpen Monday. Declining to talk w reporters until then.

May 2, 201411 yr Dan Hayes @DanHayesCSN 2m Chris Sale played long toss today. Scheduled for a bullpen session Monday. #WhiteSox
May 3, 201411 yr QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ May 2, 2014 -> 04:17 PM) So, no rehab? Probably a rehab start or simulated game. He has been off too long. The bullpen session is to see how he feels.
May 3, 201411 yr Good news Dan Hayes @DanHayesCSN · 5m Chris Sale is playing looong toss. He's back at 180-200 feet or so. #WhitesSox Bullpen Monday will happen at Wrigley Field.
