It was bound to happen. He might be frustrating as hell to watch but he's proven that he's a pretty good hitter.

De Aza was never that bad of a hitter, just unlucky at times. He has played well lately.

He has. Still, poor baserunning by him cost a run in the 5th, I believe. Looks like it won't be needed. He is hitting better, however, as you said.

Can we just take Chris out?

I agree with this. They are playing out of their mind right now....although the Sox always have struggles with the Royals no matter how well they are playing.

Why couldn't they just pull him at 101 pitches after 6? It's not like he was dominating.

Ideally, you want him in the 115 range as much as possible to keep the endurance up. That's the only reason I can think of.
