October 5, 201411 yr And the AL Central winners are swept from the playoffs! Way to represent! Hey Detroit. Speaking of representing, the Royals are up 2-0 in their series. Ouch! Glad to see the Tigers exit so quickly. Good job Orioles!
October 5, 201411 yr Too early to count this game obviously but why is James Shields still "Big Game James Shields" ?
October 5, 201411 yr Author QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 5, 2014 -> 06:42 PM) Too early to count this game obviously but why is James Shields still "Big Game James Shields" ? Why was he ever?
October 6, 201411 yr So the Tigers got swept, Michigan is 2-4, and the Lions lost. What a weekend for Detroit! (Throw in a horrible race by Brad K if you happen to follow NASCAR.)

October 6, 201411 yr Santiago is pitching for the Halos now. Royals up 3-1 in the 3rd. Could the Royals pull off a sweep?
October 6, 201411 yr Yikes! Off Santiago no less! Santiago is still struggling with the strike zone I see.
October 6, 201411 yr Not sure if it's been posted, but Showalter is on the verge of winning Manager of the Year in 1994, 2004 and 2014. Also, it was funny hearing Hawk and Stone say the other day that he requests the radar guns be turned up for the Orioles, and slowed down for the opposition when Baltimore has a home game.
October 6, 201411 yr Given the salary, Nelson Cruz may have been one of the best free agent signings of all time. Let's Go O's!
October 6, 201411 yr Konerko might have been on to something mentioning the Royals reminding him of the 05' team.
October 6, 201411 yr QUOTE (SoxAce @ Oct 5, 2014 -> 08:16 PM) Konerko might have been on to something mentioning the Royals reminding him of the 05' team. 2014 Royals - 95 home runs 2005 White Sox - 200 home runs
October 6, 201411 yr QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 5, 2014 -> 08:31 PM) 2014 Royals - 95 home runs 2005 White Sox - 200 home runs Hey his words not mine.. I'm going to assume he meant their defense and pitching. Lorenzo Cain is putting on a show as I type this. Obviously their staff will never duplicate what ours did that postseason but they're getting alot of luck. Edited October 6, 201411 yr by SoxAce
October 6, 201411 yr Pitching, speed and defense can carry a team a loooong way! I'm not a Royals fan, tho I was a huge George Brett fan as a kid, but I would like to see the Royals in the ALCS. That said, once the ALCS starts, GO ORIOLES! Do for Earl!!!
October 6, 201411 yr QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 5, 2014 -> 08:31 PM) 2014 Royals - 95 home runs 2005 White Sox - 200 home runs Greg magic.
