January 21, 201511 yr Brian is going to ask Hahn why he didn't sign Chris Denorfia. "You know Rick, you had a pretty good offseason but the Denorfia signing would have made it a great offseason. Try harder next time".
January 21, 201511 yr QUOTE (skobabe8 @ Jan 21, 2015 -> 08:10 AM) Awesome! Have a great time, raBBit. Make sure you close down the hotel bar every night. That's where the stories are! Agreed. Some great nights have been had at Soxfests of long ago in the hotel bar.
January 21, 201511 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 21, 2015 -> 09:28 AM) Agreed. Some great nights have been had at Soxfests of long ago in the hotel bar. Nothing can ever top the drunken Freddy Garcia "Cubs Suck" chanting. The good ole days of Soxfest past.
January 21, 201511 yr Full schedule http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/cws/commun...07866-770536933 I'd be interested to know if other teams bring in minor leaguers for their fan fests.

January 21, 201511 yr QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jan 21, 2015 -> 12:08 PM) That was all the cub fest was the last three years.....well that Kerry Wood and Bob and Len singing. Target practice with Starlin Castro! (Too soon?)
January 21, 201511 yr Most Fan Fests and Conventions feature their minor leaguers and retired players/ambassadors even moreso than the White Sox do. The Sox actually do a great job of getting current players from their roster to come year after year, especially right before Spring Training. At the Blackhawks convention for example, you have to be VIP hotel guest or "win" a scratch-off (near impossible) to get to meet any player(s) from current team. The Brewers make attendees pay extra for current and popular players.
January 22, 201511 yr Still looking for a pass to borrow on Friday if anyone has an extra. I just wanna hit the sale and go home. If anyone has that, let me know! We can talk about compensation if you have an extra. Thanks!
January 22, 201511 yr QUOTE (flavum @ Jan 22, 2015 -> 04:21 PM) Ventura is on CSN at 5:30. Kaplan is awful.
January 23, 201511 yr if someone can asked a couple of questions for me. 1. how come the sox haven't gone after some of the Cubans that were just recently sign?? are they planning to going after anymore in the immediate future?? Yoan Lopez could be a 1 rnd potential and all that was needed was a signing bonus. there are others who can help the system or the the team 2. are the sox going to sign or obtain any more key players to help the team go further in the playoff??

January 23, 201511 yr QUOTE (LDF @ Jan 23, 2015 -> 06:29 AM) if someone can asked a couple of questions for me. 1. how come the sox haven't gone after some of the Cubans that were just recently sign?? are they planning to going after anymore in the immediate future?? Yoan Lopez could be a 1 rnd potential and all that was needed was a signing bonus. there are others who can help the system or the the team 2. are the sox going to sign or obtain any more key players to help the team go further in the playoff?? 1) We did homework on the guys and pursued them as far as we could, but didn't feel that there was a fit, Regarding Yoan Lopez specifically, we felt that a 100% tax on overage charges didn't justify the cost of bringing him in. Had we done so, it would have cost nearly 2 times the value of his contract and would limit other potential signings we could make outside of him, so we just didn't feel that was the right opportunity. 2) We are always looking to improve the team and we have been in contact with a few players, but we can't say one way or the other whether or not we will obtain these players.
