Its just a game and a half but they seem to have the same problems this year as they did last year. But I think its just going to take a while for their younger hitters to learn patience and rise to the occasion on a consistent basis. Its all part of development but a lot of Cub fans and media members have put them further along then they really are.

Arrieta is really fricking good. Amazing how much crisper his stuff/command is since leaving Baltimore.

There was that one year where Ubaldo Jimenez was great. Then he got traded to the Indians and he really hasn't been great since.

Hampton contract didn't exactly work out there in COL.

Has proven almost impossible since then to get frontline starters to agree on fa contracts....always seem to end up with Jamey Wrights of the pitching world.

lester looked terrible. Sadly the Reds have no one to get the ball to Chapman. Soler is a superstar

The Lester stuff seems to be a very real issue. The guy hasn't thrown to 1st base since 2013, and for whatever reason people finally caught on. It almost seemed like the Cubs wanted to prove he could do it, and they found out why he hasn't......something is up.

 

He had nothing on his pitches tonight, which is odd coming after a week off. Their real ace goes tomorrow

This Cubs bullpen is pretty good. Great stuff to go with Maddon's ability to manage a bullpen should make this group one of the best in baseball. That Feldman deal gets more ridiculous every year

Ramirez and Abreu. Whiffed on Dayan.

 

Missed on Puig and Soler, if we actually had the money/resources at the time to pull off either of those deals...same with Moncada (although the jury's still out on that one).
