facial hair

Featured Replies

it was talked about a little on the TV yesterday, but what is America's

fixation with facial hair? I watched American Idol last nite and all three

Ryan Secrest, Keith Urban and Harry Connick look like they hadn't seen

a barber or a razor blade in months. The Sox lineup looks like the players

are auditioning for Smith Bros cough drops. Can the manager impose

appearance codes or is that a thing of the past? thanks, douglas

It has become a thing of the past. you are welcome, Kyyle23

there is a fine line in which a dress code can be stated. before it was "facial hair trim and properly groomed", now it appears as this is a fade and how far can the owners make a suggestion of clean shaven but yet a mustache is ok.

i just don't know if anything can be done about it, but ride the fade out.

I'm personally a big fan of facial hair.

Thanks, Sonix

When facial hair makes these guys worse at baseball, then I'll start caring about it.

I shave twice a week.

For a while you would see nothing but goatees. Now it's beards, and some really big ones. I couldn't grow one if I tried. Being blonde, I can't even get a good 5 o'clock shadow. If I could get one like LaRoche, I'd be sporting it in the winter.

I currently have a beard and I love it.

If I could grow a Sam Elliott mustache, I would do so in a heartbeat.

It's just current fashion. It's irrelevant.

I think the Yankees still have facial hair standards and fairly recently Reinsdorf has asked that players look well groomed. Not sure if that will still be the case.

If I could, I would! I have gone a month without shaving before, and it still just looks like terrible. I assume Sam Elliott can shave his mustache and grow it back in about 3 days.

Not a fan of the big bushy beards or long hair

By cracky. By cracky.

I always like to have a bit of stubble.

Nothing's wrong with facial hair. You're welcome, Jose Abreu.

I've been getting into the beard thing for a bit now...have the beard comb, the beard oil, etc. It's pretty awesome :)

I have the beard comb but not that beard oil. How is that stuff? I also am growing out my hair with my beard.

I've never understood why Reinsdorf had the long hair/facial hair rule but it's not my team to make those rules.

Forget facial hair, I just wish I could grow hair on my head.

The stuff I have helps a lot with grooming...and it also helps moisturize your skin underneath your beard. I would highly recommend.

I've always wanted to work up to a Rollie Fingers-style curled handlebar mustache. My wife has informed me that our sleeping arrangements may have to change in that instance, so I thought better of it.

Honestly, there are people who care about this? I mean, about what facial hair the ballplayers have? I mean AJP had that awful dye-job on his hair a while ago and no one cared.

Oh I'm sure we talked about it on here. Crede's hair used to be a big topic of conversation around here.
