Please fire this coaching staff.

Abreu needs to get at least one back.

I hate this defense

Mlb.tv had dropped the game 3 times that inning what happened?

That view from high on the first base side at least makes it pretty inconclusive and if he tapped it its incredibly slight.

Abreu can't play 1B

If Rodon ends up losing this game, I'll feel so bad for him. They've had so many dinky hits and the defense behind him has been god awful.

Agreed but I'm not sure how that's their fault. Abreu sucked on two plays and Rodon on the last

Hard grounder to Abreu.

Abreu fields it on dive, flips to Rodon after standing up.

Flip is lackadasical and flies high.

Rodon jumps to field the flip.

In the process of jumping, Rodon also jumps the bag.

The top of his foot may have barely tapped the back of the bag as he was passing but it was very close.

Ruled safe.

Challenged.

Call upheld.

Run scores.

E-3.

What defense?

The excuse will be Abreu and Rodon didn't work together enough on that play in spring training...because they wanted to rest Jose's legs and work on Rodon's change-up.

Well, at least the error goes to Abreu.

Yet he plays first and not DH...............RV makes that call.

And now he's nibbling.

Sox stranded 9 through 6.

This theme was old in 2007 I believe?

Thanks Abreu you killed your team that inning.

Has there ever been a worse White Sox defense?

I don't think so....unless it was one of those 1977-1980 teams. And they had Mike Squires and Chet Lemon at least.

What defense?

How can a team that has so few offensive threats also be so bad on defense? It's a lineup with 5 guys who could be number 9 hitters. I don't see how firing a coach fixes that this year. Just a bad team

PLAY LAROCHE AT 1B.

God damn just accept the f***ing DH penalty with Jose. He's not going to play 150+ games as an everyday 1B anyways in a few years.

Abreu has to give him a firm toss, not that loopy s***.

I understand these guys are professionals, but is the coaching staff not at all accountable the lack of improvement? And if guys continue to not improve, why the f*** are we still playing hacks like Gillaspie and Abreu in the field?

To quote the great Mike Singletary, you can't win with it.

Oh man let me think about that. This is definitely one of the worst but in the 90's with Valentin at SS and roiders making up a lot of the teams those may have been worst. Defense wasn't a priority back then

IT'S EVERY YEAR.

Is it just a bad team every year?

Rick Hahn has certainly put together an impressive array of talent.

Agreed. We have a gold glove 1b sitting on the bench.

My biggest pet peeve is the horrid amateurish base running.

You could also quote greg.

The Astros of course have the best bullpen in the NL, if not all of MLB.
