He's not the type of guy teams overpay for

Quintana career v LHP: .248/.302/.382

Quintana career v RHP: .261/.318/.393

If you're really that desperate to have more of a righty/lefty split in the rotation despite none of them actually struggling way more against righties, why not move Danks (the way worse pitcher) into a long man roll and give one of our righties like Guerra or Johnson a chance?

Oh yeah that would be better... just don't think we could get much for Danks.

At the game, looked safe on the jumbo-tron. What do you guys think?

Close call but most definitely safe

How can Melky foul a 93 MPH straight fastball down the middle?

How is that not conclusive? Unreal. Why have replay if you can't get the call right.

If Q could be more direct at going after guys, who knows what his career W/L record would look like. 101 games career, 600 innings...these 20+ pitch innings have to be much less a part of his starts.

Whole thing is a joke

Bad call but a) why the hell is Avi stealing, he was 2 for 5 on the season and 9 for 18 on his career, it's a 3-1 count and the guy can't throw strikes right now, and b) why the hell does our dumbass org think Avi can steal 30 bases in a season

How he is not safe on that is beyond me. What an absolute joke of a call.

You want him to turn into John Danks? He has a 92 mph heater. He works with what he has man. Being "more direct" would lead to gopherballs.

Hawk calling conspiracy!

When certain East coast teams are getting 70% of every challenge and others getting 20% something is wrong.

I still like replay even if they mess up once in a while. The key is to improve year-by-year.

I'm not talking about getting something for him, I'm talking about moving him into the Scott Carroll role and possibly saving yourself a Quintana by finding your "decent righty" within the org, which I believe we could well have

He is a 30/30 guy ask Hawk................I can't see him ever getting 20 steals in a year let alone 30.

Guys who 'only' throw 92 can still have success by not chalking up big pitch counts early in games. Pitch counts are about the dumbest thing around to measure a guys ability to stay in a game, but it unfortunately is the metric that still some how reigns supreme. He has to find a way to find some efficiency.

He's pitched more innings than Sale the last two years combined, what now? If you're gonna b**** about a guy that's thrown over 200 innings each of the last two years and will likely do so again this year -- then you will b**** about 95% of starting pitchers because there aren't many Jim Palmers and Nolan Ryan rubber arms left out there.

This 20 year-old is a pleasure to watch. What a talent!

I really like him he will be a monster in 2 years.

Let's get some runs please

Remember when the Astros wanted Quintana for Castro? That was funny

It is about to rain

It is about to rain

The rain looks well south, and moving that way. Unless new stuff is popping up.

Quick rule of thumb....pointing out the obvious usually doesn't = b****ing. I'm not sure why you're super sensitive about anyone saying Q should be able to produce more in the W/L, just stating the facts.

Btw, pitching more innings than Sale in the last 2 years is kind of a given, considering Sale was on the DL last year and all...

Hell of an AB there

great AB by Shuck.

Get Bonafacio out of there
