Why your positivity doesnt annoy me like others only God knows.

Well for one, baseball is a game, so while I enjoy the winning, I just focus on other things or try to look at the upside when we are losing. If you can't have fun with a game, why do it. Millions of other things to do with our time. This baseball season has probably been the most frustrating I've ever been involved in as a fan, but that winning streak was fun. It brought all kinds of life back to the southside and you forget what can happen when some young talent gets infused and helps your club (vs. hurts it).

 

I've said I don't buy into Saladino as a long-term starter, but it was a fresh change for the Sox to bring in some new blood and see it inject some life into the club (Sanchez included). Hopefully Tim Anderson can do something similar in time (as can Micah). Then lets hope Hahn and company can find some other young pieces from other teams that can come over and fill holes as well. Use these next couple of months to develop from within and get a better gauge at 2016 and lets hope someone makes a desperate pitch for Shark during the waiver period!!!

Step 1: trade Kenny to Toronto for something less ridiculous than O's wanted for their Gm.

Step 2: Hire Dave as president of baseball operations.

Step 3: profit

If Caulfield was the GM he would go back in time and acquire all of the players who turned out to be good moves and never traded any White Sox prospect who amounted to anything in the MLB. There would also be Twins and Royals.

The 20/20 vision on Morales is f***ing nuts. Nobody would look at the 2014 of Morales and think he was worth any sort of pickup and even in his massive "bounce back" year he's still been worth only .9 fWAR. Hell, the Melk man will probably pass him in fWAR by the end of the year.

Well, it's hard to compare pure DH guys with everyday outfielders. Better to compare Rios/Aoki/Cabrera/YTomas.

 

Nobody would believe the war numbers Goldschmidt and Rizzo are putting up, they're almost doubling Abreu, who has moved back into the top 30 mlb for Ops.

 

However, if you look at Morales' ops numbers in 2012 and 2013, they're not completely out of whack with what he's doing this year. He was months behind when he started last season and never got comfortable in Minnesota or Seattle...neither which are great hitter's parks.

I guess Dombrowski isn not an analytics guy. How many will jump from the Dombrowski bandwagon?

We have been making some strides, but we’ll fast-forward a little bit and add to that department. You’ll see a big difference there.” However, Avila also stressed the importance of maintaining a balance between traditional scouting and the statistical component of player analysis. As Paul notes, the presence of J.D. Martinez on the Tigers can be chalked up to traditional scouting, and Avila played a huge role in bringing Martinez to Detroit.

White Sox will never deliberately operate at a loss like the Tigers.

 

And that is exclusively on the owner. No GM of any sports franchise tells an owner, "No, that's ok, I'd rather not spend the extra money to acquire talent, thank you anyway."

 

Certainly not franchise changing like trading 2 months of Samardjiza would have been. LMAO.

Trading prospects, not into analytics. I thought those are deal breakers.

Red Sox fans constantly give Cherington credit for drafting and their farm system. Man I would love somehow get him on the Sox.
