The annoying thing about this series is we get to hear about how great the rivalry is between these two teams, yet in the last 70 years both teams have been over .500 in the same season all of 14 times. By comparison, the Red Sox and Yankees have both been over .500 in the same season 43 times over the same time period. If one of the rivals is usually terrible, it's not a great rivalry.

Between that coverage angle, the BFIB Cards attitude, and my hatred for all things Cubbish, this series has the potential to be the most annoying thing that has ever happened in sports. I'll probably just avoid it.

Anyone see the daily herald article the morning titled, "Cub fans unite" This is our year we got this. Where have i heard that before?

This is still the Cubs they will find a way too lose like always.

Earlier, "Go Cubs Go" was blasting at an extremely high volume 5 feet from me. On a loop. For 25 minutes. So that was nice.

Then, I'm playing lacrosse, and during a break, this guy who was running on the track on the perimeter of the field stops, runs towards the field and at me, and says "Did you like that game last night? Are you a Cardinals fan now?" I haven't talked to this guy in 3 years. I guess that's the price I pay for being known as the diehard Sox fan.

These were just 2 of 10+ instances of me having to take s*** today  Please, Cardinals, sweep them.

I have had 3 instances today. Called a sox b****, i should be worried, and that the cubs world series party will be better then 2005.

I have a couple of Cubs fans on my FB feed that have posted but other than that, I haven't really had any interaction with any other Cub fans. I haven't seen/heard all that much from the media either.

I bowled against a team on Tuesday night that were named Cubs fans. When I talked to them I found out one was actually a Sox/Cardinals fan. Another one was wearing a Twins shirt.

Someone just made me a bet. I wear a cubs shirt if they make it the world series and they will wear a sox shirt if they don't make it. Don't know if i should pull the trigger?

9 straight Cubs starters have not allowed a homer in their outing. Seems like quite the fluke stretch of pitching they're getting.

Middle of the pack in flyball and groundball rate over that period too, so it's not like they're suppressing flyballs.

Go Cubs Go is the song you would write if you were locked in a room for a year and forced to listen to Jimmy Buffett while watching Cub games.

To be fair, as much as that song sucks the Go Go White Sox song isn't much better.

Go Go White Sox isn't some stupid pop song based on inaccurate claims. It's a fight song from the olden days.

Ive noticed the past few weeks if I wear my Sox hat that I occasionally get things yelled at or said to me like "Sox suck." I just ask them who the manager of the Cubs was before Maddon. You would be floored at how many of their regular fans dont know the answer to that.

Anybody hate this series as much as I do? It is a lose lose situation for me

I know I'll be cheering against the winner in the NLCS no matter who it is.

That Eddie Vedder song isn't any better. If you haven't heard it yet, you are lucky.
