To be clear here, draft picks can be traded after the World Series, and can't ever be PTBNL before the World Series. The rules were changed last year.

Ah thanks. I knew something was changed in the rule.

I don't want Frazier because the Reds will want way too much, but you might have the most recency bias of anyone on this board.

Mike Trout ended the season 1/8. Do not want this hero

Frazier is probably the best, most realistic fit their and if we are seriously looking at Upton, than I kind of hope we are seriously looking at Frazier. It would mean we were a little right handed heavy, but at least we would be addressing / filling two major voids in the lineup. Plus Frazier is more than solid defensively, which helps from that perspective as well.

I just presume the Reds asking price will be too steep.

Dan Hayes said the asking price is outrageous

I'm sure it is. He doesnt suck and is signed for a few more years.

Hopefully he costs one of their young starting pitchers

Sox will probably sweep in at the last minute and give them 2 of theirs lol

Source: Reds have asked White Sox for No. 1 prospect Tin Anderson in talks regarding Todd Frazier. Seems an unlikely match. #Reds WhiteSox

Haha no thanks

If Frazier were under team control for 3 years, maybe, but not for just 2.

Yeah I can't see them doing that.

These Winter Meetings have been a giant turd...so far.

Every discussion has to start somewhere. Their GM wouldn't be doing his job if he didn't ask.

Agree. If this team were 1 or 2 players away then I'd say do it but not for Anderson and not for a guy who will be a UFA in 2 years and will command a good sized deal.

This discussion started during the season though...

Still he's gotta ask again. Considering there is no urgency to move Frazier. They can hold onto him and move him in July.

Judging by the returns on Miller and Kimbrel, Anderson isn't an overask.

I think they'd want more than just Anderson. My presumption is they'd be starting the conversation at Anderson / Fullmer. I honestly don't know that they budge from their. Reds would probably settle for a package built around Anderson, Johnson +. I don't know whether the Sox would.

If it would take Anderson, Johnson+, I would ask for Frazier and Cozart. Then sign Upton

Edited by SoxPride18

If it's just a swap, 1 for 1, I absolutely do Anderson for Frazier. It's the pieces the Reds might want on top of Anderson that would worry me.

You mean Cozart?

Yeah, it auto corrected lol.

Seen MLB network that Indians and Red not likely match.

Lol in figured but you know...had to verify. If the Sox were trading for Mozart, they'd be the only team in the mlb with a zombie.

@m_sheldon: Source is telling me a deal between #reds and #indians for Frazier is unlikely. Not finding a match there.
