This guy puts slams his sack on the table just like Kenny used to do.

How cute.

Someone's gotta do it...

Maybe history is the best teacher. How many of them benefited the Sox? It's not so much what they gave up but what they got and made a negative impact. Smarj and Swisher come to mind. Still looks great on paper but since it was Oakland does history prevail?

An essential member of the World Series team?

Triple negatives always confuse me.

The third baseman looked like he was quite physically stressed from receiving that ball into the infield. Maybe he is he one who is aging.

I hated Swisher more than any other player ever to criss paths within the Sox system so I'm glad you brought him up....wait no I'm not.... I hate that duechebag! Why would you bring that guy up man?!

You calling Kalapse a joke is obviously out of pure ignorance. I forgive you although Jesus may not.

Video doesn't lie. I'd love to see you defend Zobrist's loafing on that play, the only Athletic on the field with a sense of focus or urgency there was Lawrie.

I am not defending anything, every great player makes an error part of the game, how exactly does that adequate to career stats?

Wow, that is quite a deal. They gave up nearly nothing and got a starting 3B with a lot of upside. Even if he's ML average, that's a huge upgrade on what the Sox had at 3B last year.

@CSNHayes plus, Sox 3B combined for a -2.2. fWAR in 2015. Compared to Lawrie's .6 last year, its a +2.8 increase

Who's number 22 on the list again?

The Sox trade for a young 3B and the thread is transf***ed into an argument over the cubs new 2B? Really?

f*** Zobrist!

f*** the cubs!

Go Sox!

Catcher and third base has been upgraded and now on to the next move, whatever that may be. :gosoxretro:

I'm one of those typically negative posters here and I'll say this: I'm happy with Hahn and this move! The package was nowhere near what I would have expected. I'm glad to have Lawrie and am very excited bow for whats forthcoming

Even when we trade the farm for Frazier?

I hope there is no one upset about this move. There is nothing to be upset without about this move.

I just wish we got to see how well Gonzalez would have fared under the Sox.

Since this thread is about Lawrie in the first place who's #17 on the list?

Read what Fathom and I wrote. Get back to me once your finished. Plus bookmark that site. Maybe do a review of advanced statistics.

I'd prefer Heyward. Don't care that it's more money. He won't be around after year 4/5 around anyway.

We are talking about a 10 year deal, probably.

QUOTE (ozzfest @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 08:55 PM)
I'll be pissed if Danny Valencia has a better year than Lawrie. We could have gotten Valencia for nothing last year.

no, we couldn't have. Oakland was ahead of us on the wire.

Could have fooled me! Still waiting for you to come up with some plausible excuse for Zobrist's horrendous outfield play in that clip! Rickey's rolling over in his grave!!!

He mentioned trading for him before that, fwiw.
