6-125 for Upton. Yeah Sox aren't touching that for Cespedes

If Rick Hahn had balls of steel...

Pretty reasonable deal for Upton.

More than 125 according to Ken.

I just can't understand what the holdup is with Cespedes accepting our very generous three year offer. It's right in line with what's going on in the market!

Haha, does go to show how ridiculous a stance it is if true

Do not worry Hahn will announce Shane Victorino signing at Soxfest! :bang

3-50 is higher AAV than 6-132, right?

announcement to an empty room.

What you have to wonder is just how much is Cespedes asking for? Tigers like him, so was this the cheaper deal for them?

This whole situation is making the White Sox negotiating or bargaining position look a little less nuanced than previously.

Gordon got six years at age 32, granted, he remained with his hometown team.

1. Royals

2. Indians

3. Tigers

4. Twins (can obviously move up based on Buxton/Berrios impact)

5. White Sox

That's where things stand as of right now, at this exact moment.

1. Maybin/Gose

2. Kinsler

3. Miguel Cabrera

4. Victor Martinez

5. Upton

6. JD Martinez

7. McCann

8. Castellanos

9. Iglesias

Whether Gose and Maybin can hold up in the leadoff position is another question...

They might have to hit Kinsler leadoff, and move Iglesias to 2nd (not sure if last year was an anomaly yet)...and Gose/Maybin/Tyler Collins at the bottom.

Cespedes should get less than Upton, but I think 5/$100M becomes a realistic target for him and I don't see the Sox going five years.

If only Ricketts could have bought the White Sox!

He gets an opt out after 2.

Opt-outs are as annoying to me as transfers in college basketball

That 2018 free agent class is going to be so crazy.

Your move, Jerry Reinsdorf.

It's hard to make an argument that as things stand today, despite our 3 young/cost-controlled aces at the front of the rotation, we're NOT still likely a 4th or 5th place team.

If Minnesota can get another starting pitcher, they might actually be the most dangerous team in the AL Central, but Sano still has to follow up his impressive debut and adjust to the pitchers this time around. Buxton has to stay healthy and put up at least a 700 OPS.

Mike Illitch....balls (or, more accurately, a bank vault) of steel.

The question is would Cespedes want an opt out? Upton is younger. Not sure Cespedes would opt out getting well into his 30s.

Gotta figure some of these guys will pass on theirs (Ian Kennedy needs an opt out? Really? He's going to get more than that?)
