My cousin goes to Vegas by himself every once in awhile. Is that weird?

No. The guy knows how to have fun on his own. Don't see anything weird with that.

Lol this is about to be me. Found $120 round trip to Vegas and $40/night at the Flamingo but everyone I contact can't go at that time or are already going when I can't. Just recently got out of a relationship so I may end up going by myself and having fun on my own lol

The past two years I've taken a two week vacation by myself in July. It's pretty freeing if your comfortable by yourself. It's always great being able to do whatever you want at any time so I can't recommend it enough.

An old co-worker of mine does the same. She went to Hawaii by herself and she said it was so freeing. You do whatever you want, meet people and do stuff with them so you're not alone.

Frankly when I am in vegas I am sitting at a table the entire time. Im not fun anyway.

Last time I was there for a bachelor party, everyone kept getting split up to play their own games anyway. And there was a long time where I was by myself for a whole afternoon/evening as the bachelor and a few other guys lost their phones like right after I left this cabana party at Flamingo.

The last two years I've done solo Vegas vacations, and I love it! I miss my wife and daughter, no doubt, but it is so great to not worry about anyone else's schedule or being ready or being tired (or if I get tired or want to cancel something).

There are pluses and minuses to traveling solo, but for me there were more pluses.

That sounds fun, although I don't think I could ever get the OK for that.

Wife and I are going with some friends in September. Guys always talk about the NCAA tournament weekends, but I think weekends in September are way better. On Saturday you have 50-75 CFB games from 9 AM to 9 PM, then a NFL Sunday to bet on. The weather is usually warm enough to still hit up the pool, and you don't have to deal with all the meatheads on the March weekends.

Did you just decide that while reading this thread or did you already book a flight and realize you didn't have a hotel yet? haha

I already was going, just saw a bunch of people talking abut it so thought I'd ask as there are so many different options.

Gotcha. You going during the week or a weekend?

Most likely leaving getting in late Thursday and leaving late Sunday. Only for sure plan is going to see Britney for my gf.

Debating if I want to go to the Beatles Cirque Du Soleil or Hakkasen/Omnia. I think my gf wants to do one of those pool party dj things. It just happens the weekend we are going the DJs seem to be Kaskade, Tiesto, Garrix and Zedd. Weve seen all of them at least 2x, so it would be more to check out the club itself.

Ive never been to Vegas, so just not sure how much difference there are in the hotels, and whether I should avoid staying at a place like Rio that is slightly off the strip.

Nothing wrong with slightly off the strip.

There are legit differences in how "luxurious" each hotel is. The older ones are more "classic hotels". There's then a mid-tier like the MGM and that class where the rooms are modern and there's lots of stuff to do but they're not extremely fancy. Then there's a bundle of really, really nice ones where you'll have trouble going wrong with any of them. The Rio is pretty close to the top tier but you don't have to pay the extra funds for being on the strip.

Taking the kids to one of those massive waterparks in the Dells his weekend. Either the best idea ever or the worst idea ever. Luckily we have grandparents coming to help corral the little ones.

that was an annual trek when I was a kid and I absolutely loved it. They'll most likely have a blast.

The Dells is awesome. Its a close drive from Chicago so you don't have to worry about going through the chaos of airport travelling with kids. It doesn't drain your pockets for money since the waterpark is included with your hotel stay and the food is simple and easy for the kids.

As opposed to taking the kids out of town, going through airports, feeding them at fancy restaurants every meal out of convenience, paying for every theme park/tourist spot throughout the trip.

Ended up staying at Mirage it was pretty nice. Maybe would have liked a more upbeat casino, but there is also something to be said for having a place to stay that is actually relaxing after youve been out all day/night.

Took the kid to Kalahari this summer. We were at the indoor park almost exclusively because she thought the water outside was too cold.

Looks like I'll be moving to Belgium in October to manage a project for my company over there. 12 month stint. Only possible holdup is that the potential client hasn't officially signed, but we're starting the visa process because we're far enough in negotiations.

I've never been to Europe, but I'm pumped. Going to try to travel to as many places as I can.
