July 6, 20169 yr http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?s...mp;ymd=20160706 Birmingham playing a matinee.
July 6, 20169 yr Author Fulmer struck out ten over five innings, giving up two runs on five hits and three walks. Burdi relieves Fulmer and is currently imploding. Three walks with nobody out.
July 6, 20169 yr Another good start for Fulmer. 10k in 5 innings. Burdi having a terrible inning so far. He's not close to being MLB ready.
July 6, 20169 yr QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 6, 2016 -> 12:08 PM) Another good start for Fulmer. 10k in 5 innings. Burdi having a terrible inning so far. He's not close to being MLB ready. Been saying since I saw him pitch, his command is not close to ready yet. But the media around the Sox seem honed into the idea that he'll be in Chicago this month. Either they are delusional, or they know something and the Sox are delusional. Not sure which.
July 6, 20169 yr yea I said same thing about burdi. He wasn't even dominating Hi-A. I heard his fastball is flat
July 6, 20169 yr looking at milb.com and it looks like Adams has a good game and then implodes the next and back to 2 good games. His last 10 games ER have been: 6,2,1,5,2,0,7,0,2 and 5. I expect a good game today
July 6, 20169 yr Sox org gets enamoured with velocity too much to a point regardless of results. Wouldn't surprise me if he is fast tracked in any case.
July 6, 20169 yr They also might feel that getting him fast tracked to the majors with Cooper will help his development the most. I obviously don't know that for sure but it's certainly a possibility. The talent is clearly there, if they believe the maturity level is there, they might feel it's in his and the team's best interest to fast track him. Who knows. Edited July 6, 20169 yr by Rowand44
July 6, 20169 yr Scott Merkin @scottmerkin 1h1 hour ago Chicago, IL Burdi making his Birmingham debut after being promoted. Could be a little bit of nerves involved. Had not walked anyone in prev. 5 games

Could be a little bit of nerves involved. Had not walked anyone in prev. 5 games Wait a minute, that would mean he is a human being with emotions and everything.

I figured August at the earliest. Last thing we need is another reliever who can't throw strikes.
July 6, 20169 yr QUOTE (TRU @ Jul 6, 2016 -> 04:16 PM) Well, at least his ERA is still 0.00 It's not though lol. It's technically infinity
July 6, 20169 yr So the Sox luck in the minors continues to suck. Spencer Adams gives up 6 after 3 and leaves due to injury.
July 6, 20169 yr So much for one of our best, and likeliest, trade chips left remaining in the cupboard. Morneau walked in his first PA, so far in first 2+ games, BB, HBP...0/4, GIDP. At least getting out there on the basepaths in game action should help, too. Edited July 6, 20169 yr by caulfield12
July 6, 20169 yr Yeah I read "wrenched his knee severely" which could be a lot of things, probably ranging from a month to the rest of the season.
July 6, 20169 yr Yikes lets hope it's a minor. Sounds like pateller tendon issue Edited July 6, 20169 yr by PolishPrince34
July 6, 20169 yr Rob Young @RobertHYoung 14m14 minutes ago From a reliable source on the Spencer Adams injury, it is his ankle and there is some hope that it is just a sprain #WhiteSox

July 6, 20169 yr That's what you would have thought originally when Jared Mitchell went down. Kind of a once in a lifetime freak catastrophic injury. He SHOULD be okay, kids that age are so resilient physically.
July 7, 20169 yr Have a feeling the patented Flavum optimistic numerical projections are coming back soon if the White Sox can take 2/3 from ATL or sweep them going into the ASB...
