  1. I think, if healthy and playing to their potential, the Sox have a much better chance to beat NY and Houston than Minnesota. The proof is in the pudding when it comes to how they faired head to head. It's why I'm more likely to take the plunge on a dramatic trade.
  2. One thing I loved is that the home runs were all the result of the Sox pulling the ball last night. We've been teased before but I think they might be coming out of this.
  3. I think Menechino is gone by the All Star break. The only thing that keeps him is if the Sox hit an ungodly amount of Home Runs against the Twins.
  4. Bochy would be excellent. The age isn't that big of a deal. Baker is 73 and thriving with the Astros.
  5. Last notable one was Jack McKeon and we know how that ended....
  6. Not a Tony fan but you can't blame the bottom of the ninth on him. He's not telling Abreu to swing at awful pitches. I'm sure he was as baffled as all of us to see Eloy beat that pitch into the ground. These guys are pros and should know enough that when you have a pitcher with no control up there, you aren't going to swing at anything that doesn't look like a strike. Also, and not many people are talking about this, there was an egregious strike call that went against Robert that may have changed the hitter's approach at the plate following that call. Robert should have had a walk. I'm glad he got the double but that call could have been a factor in the more aggressive approach after that.
  7. I like Drury but they need a left handed bat. Do they have enough prospects to get Bryan Reynolds in a down year? And if they do, can they dump Pollock for some prospects to a contender. I think getting Drury does make sense but only if they get a left handed bat.
  8. I think they are going to go after Jazz Chisholm. I also think, and maybe it's just me, but getting another pitcher, especially given just how durable and dependable Cueto is, isn't that much of a priority. I have no issue with Cueto pitching in a playoff game.
  9. He's a better left fielder. There's no doubt about that.
  10. My friend Katie, who is queer and whose wedding I went to, works for Howard Brown. She knows the Hendriks and has nothing but great things to say about them and how wonderful allies they are to the LGBTQ community. I identify as queer myself. It's wonderful to see someone who is as big of a name as Liam being such an ally.
  11. https://theathletic.com/3361419/2022/06/14/liam-hendriks-white-sox-pride-night/ I'm very glad this guy is on my team!
  12. It says within a year. Haven't found longterm statistics. Average IL visit is 117 days but that is taking into account the pitchers who had Tommy John. https://www.drahmadsportsmedicine.com/forearm-muscle-strains-alarming-relationship-ucl-injuries/
