  1. I think these are more the "in route" stops. Yesterday I was having breakfast with a friend and the funeral procession for Sgt. Christopher Ramirez who was killed a couple weeks ago drove slowly past. If I hadn't been there, and later read the news accounts, I doubt I would ever have paused and said a prayer for him and his family. When we send our servicement and women to fight, we need to be prepared for the consiquences. We should never, ever, send our military into combat without understanding the sacrifice was are asking them to make. Only when we can look a soldier in the eye and say, we need you to risk your life, and possibly die for this cause, should we ever send a single member. We must accept the fact that when our elected leaders send men into combat it is on all of our hands. We are asking them to go. We are telling them they need to make that sacrifice. We elected the officials making the decision. It is our decision. To then shield ourselves from the ugly facts of our decisions, is gutless.
  2. I'm pretty much a bandwagon jumper. I just enjoy all the pennants and world championships
  3. How about the head of the line? Head of the class? go ahead? Heading up to Boston for the game?
  4. I somehow feel we are sweeping their sacrifice under the rug by not showing them. I think they should be recognized for their sacrifice and not forgotten. Link
  5. Everybody on my baseball team was a Cubs fan. It all seemed too easy. Our coach was such a Cubs fan our uniforms were blue pin stripes and our eam bus was painted with white pin stripes. Then I was able to go to games on my own. Night games were so much cooler, and cooler. The South Side Hit men, singing with Nancy, waving to Veeck, I was hooked.
  6. Good points. But what about those board members that would prefer to not get in a big argument? If they are offended, and post that, you can see what the reaction is. I think the site owners and admins should be aware of what is offending and let them decide how to deal with it. I'm only a mod, if someone complains, I try and handle it to the best of my ability without deleting, locking, editing, etc. Now shut the f*** up before I delete every damn post your yankee ass will ever make.
  7. I believe this is called pulling a Shaq. You couldn't have committed to this during the off season and then rehabbed?
  8. I have to leave for a while. Please don't be like Tuesday, I miss the opening, pop open a mountain dew and we're down 8. Go Sox!
  9. I do not believe 4Es religious practices or lack there of really matters in his opinion of the course of history that Israel should follow. My agreements and disagreements with him in these areas would not be affected if he was at Temple every week and kept Kosher. I still think a war to the last person is not good for either group. While you obviously cannot dismiss the religious implications in this war, in many ways it is the simple "you have something I want" war. The US wanted Mexico lands and basically we kicked some ass to get it.
  10. Any other comments about this specific post by me will be via private PM. I would hope that people would continue to use the report function to avoid public flame wars. I prefer to let the poster know that someone or more are offended and give the individual a chance to articulate their views without offending. Since all Sox fans are above average in intelligence and beautiful to boot, I think we can express ourtselves, with passion and emotion, without offending. Unless it involves a death threat, something illegal, etc. I never want to delete or edit someone's posts.
  11. Because they used the report function because they think you're a nice guy and they didn't want to publically call you out.

  13. I really cannot tell a difference between the three. I go to the one that is closest to me at the time I need something. It would be a slight preference but I would rank them Depot, Staples, Max. But really I don't care.
  14. Besides BeGood, and just because I remember him mentioning it, I couldn't tell you who is 13 and who is 31, and who is as hold as cw and I. Actually my most annpoying troll, who was never banned, but left on his/her own was alegedly over 21.
  15. I can't wait for the baseball season to start.
  16. Then why did the UN need to do anything in the 1940s? What exactly did the UN do?
  17. Can we all agree that statistics from this region are all suspect? I really have a hard time believing either side's statistics. The more people die on both sides, the more power the hardline radicals on both sides develop. Keep escalting the violence against your enemy and they will keep increasing their violence against you. First the doves are silenced, then the moderates, and finally it's all out war with many hundreds of thousands of people dying. Sadly there are people like 4E on both sides of this, and they both want body counts to solidify their support. I'll bet Hamas would love to have bodies of little kids killed at their daddy funeral. If that wouldn't be the best recruiting poster, I do not know what would be. And the death to all Palistinians would aplaud that because it would increase the attacks on Israel, allowing more and more violence to be used against the Palestinians. I wonder which side it sustaining more casualties? Israel using tanks, helicopters, missles, or the Palestinians using home made bombs.
  18. It is one means of evaluating if a cruiser cop is working. In some locals, I'm thinking Hainsville, Illinois where they had 6 squad cars for a population of just over 200 at one time. They would hire all of these part time cops to sit on 120 and pull people over. If you covered your salary, plus some for the city, you kept your job. Oops, I mean they kept the good people of Hainsville save from all the out of towners who would have been speeding.
  19. Oh crap, even Jason gets birthday wishes?! I guess everybody is entitled now. Thank you, you have done so much to lower productivity, nationwide, no internationally, for so many people. From offices in Michigan, to Texas, to schools in New York, even "down under"
  20. Using 4E's numbers One of the 30% of Palistinians who just wants peace and hasn't yet developed a hatred for Isreal is driving down a highway to attending his daughter's fotball game. Unfortunatly, at the same time, a Hamas leader decides to use that same stretch of highway. Israel helicopters launch missles into the Hamas leaders car, delighting 4E and Nuke who jump up, cheer, yell, toast, and delight in the bastard dying. But the person in the other car is just as dead. He is "collateral damage". A nice way of saying his life wasn't worth living, if a Hamas leader could be killed. Two days later, his widow and two children are trying to make sense of it, why someone who wanted peace, who never voted for these Hamas, has been taken away. They plan a quiet funeral for just their family and curse the Hamas and the Israeli missle that killed him. Hamas sees this a perfect time to recruit new mercenaries. Hamas learns when and where the funeral shall be and send over fanatics to wave AK-47s in the air and shout death to the people who did this to you! Now, 4E believes the "collateral damage's" children must be killed at their father's funeral. They are powerless against Hamas. They have even less than Hamas. They have no guns to chase Hamas away. But 4E is in charge, and he orders an attack on the funeral. So the helicopters roll in and the grieving children are killed also. And 4E and Nuke cheer and toast each others. They shout we killed the bastards at their own funeral! Nuke explains how "collateral damage" is ok and 4E explains the children probably weren't innocent anyways. Maybe make a few jokes. 4E can feel like a real man, safe in his home in Chicago. And then the percentage of Palistinians who think Israel is bloodthirsty goes up by a few more. And another 12 year old decides that Israel must be stopped at all costs, certainly before his mother is killed. And he kisses his mother good-bye, walks to a Hamas hideout, straps on a bomb, and climbs on a crowded bus in Israel . . .
  21. I just thought of a revenue stream. Who gets to push the button on the next troll? That seems like too much fun. A couple clicks and He Gawn! I actually appreciate a troll every once in a while. We need to invite a couple Skankee fans to post. Bu-bye!
