  1. I don't think that is Koch support, but look at the stats, Marte has blown more saves, and lost more games this year than Koch, that is not the move to make. I'm not supporting Koch, but Marte isn't the answer either.
  2. The next thread that sets a record better be We Clinched! Or something like that. Doesn't it seem to be relief pitchers in general and closers in particular that have the fastest decline? If I'm an opposing team, I don't worry about being 3 down and facing Botch. You have confidence and play well. He has lost any intimidation factor, the sight of Billy coming in fills an opposing team with hope, not dispare.
  3. Did this thread set a Soxtalk record for the most posts in the shortest amount of time? Nothing like imploding in front of a nationwide audience. I know when I went to add my profanity laced tyrade, I couldn't get through. Can we get a f*** Koch smiley, it will save us all a lot of time. ANd my thoughts and prayers are with him. Going from superstar to all but washed up is a sad thing.
  4. You don't understand trickledown. When you give breaks to the wealthy, they feel benevolent and trickle some of it down to the common man and minorities.

I just re-read that and all I can say is WOW and Jim's a lucky man. You animal
  6. The questions in my mind were Starting Pitching -- Overall 3/5 are doing better 1 (E-Lo) about to expectations 2nd Base -- Solved with an A+ CF -- Solved Closer -- Problem Manager -- doing fine

Remember compare Colon to Wright, Cotts, Rauch, etc. I'm glad JR has a little more cash to spend. I will forget Colon when I see what mid season pick-ups we make.
  9. LMAO, finally. I thought Billy was a key to this season, it looks like the key is locked in the car with the engine running. Whatever the hell that means
  10. I looked it up to see just how much he really sucked. The post I had typed 2 minutes after the game was 120 WPM, profanity laced, and couldn't get through do to everybody else typing a profanity laced Botch Sucks post. This morning I started to wonder about other closers and if there is any hope. The questions in my mind are: If Ozzie dumps Koch as closer, is there any chance of him returning to that roll if everything else we try doesn't work? If once he is pulled, he's through, is this the time, or should we give it just a little longer?
  11. OMG, Nuke and I agree. I am going to mark my calendar In my estimation, Carter has been the best ex-President we have. His work for Habitat and Justice have shown his policies were more than just politics, they were deep convictions. Perhaps in a different time he could have had an excellent Presidency. His economic policies were about as effective as Ford's Whip Inflation Now buttons. His refusal to trade weapons for hostages also hurt him.
  12. But are you sure about the lead?
  13. Of course this doesn't show how he got there. The walks, lead off hits, etc. Just the final outcome.

  15. I am more impressed with Frank being walked 50 times. All we are discovering with Binds walks is steroids causes homeruns and walks.

BEER TROUBLESHOOTING SYMPTOM FAULT ACTION Feet cold and wet. Glass being held at incorrect angle. Rotate glass so that open end points toward ceiling. Feet warm and wet. Improper bladder control. Stand next to nearest dog, complain about house training. Beer unusually pale and tasteless. Glass empty. Get someone to buy you another beer. Opposite wall covered with fluorescent lights. You have fallen over backward. Have yourself leashed to bar. Mouth contains cigarette butts. You have fallen forward. See above. Beer tasteless, front of your shirt is wet. Mouth not open, or glass applied to wrong part of face. Retire to restroom, practice in mirror. Floor blurred. You are looking through bottom of empty glass. Get someone to buy you another beer. Floor moving. You are being carried out. Find out if you are being taken to another bar. Room seems unusually dark. Bar has closed. Confirm home address with bartender. Taxi suddenly takes on colorful aspect and textures. Beer consumption has exceeded personal limitations. Cover mouth. Everyone looks up to you and smiles. You are dancing on the table. Fall on somebody cushy-looking. Beer is crystal-clear. It's water. Somebody is trying to sober you up. Punch him. Hands hurt, nose hurts, mind unusually clear. You have been in a fight. Apologize to everyone you see, just in case it was them. Don't recognize anyone, don't recognize the room you're in. You've wandered into the wrong party. See if they have free beer. Your singing sounds distorted. The beer is too weak. Have more beer until your voice improves. Don't remember the words to the song. Beer is just right. Play air guitar.
  17. Gee, I am certain that Kenny and JR are shocked that Koch is 1-1 with three blown saves in 10 tries this season. What could have foretold such pain and misery? Maybe last f***ing year? :fyou
  18. That's bulls*** Nuke. Giving a tax break to someone who make $22,000 a year just makes sense. Conservative don't think of giving the low income guy a break, they turn it into the wealthy paying more. Liberals believe in giving someone a help up. Take whatever the highest tax level is and that is the rate. People who make less, are given help until they too, can make more. And quit with the ALL bulls***. That's about as valid as me comparing ALL conservatives to David Duke.

Wow Steff, not enough?! Is that at one time? I read an essay in the Village Voice a while back that suggest that the government should not recognize religious unions at all and only recognize a civil union for purposes of benefits, laws, etc. It makes sense to me.

Should we examine what he's earning this season. If his contract is cheap enough, isn't that all that matters?
  21. Texsox replied to Yoda's topic in SLaM
But LT. Dan, you aint got no legs?!
  22. Which would mean they were not proud before that. Too bad, I've always been proud. I guess fair weather fans applyt to countries as well. I think that is sad, you think it's ok. Not worth arguing about.
  23. I've watched the replay of what seems like a blown goal call that hurt Calgary. It leaves me with a hollow feeling for game 7 knowing that Calgary fans must (rightfully) feel like they got screwed. I was pulling for Tampa, but know hope that Calgary wins in a good game. As far as the Hawks, I remember sitting in the stadium watching Pittsburg carry around the Cup. Very weird feeling. Sucks your team lost, cool to be at a Lord Stanley Finals.

No problem, it adds just enough.
