  1. Nah, he's just charting his way back to familiar waters the best way he knows how.
  2. Yeah, but then Ricky is going to put in the ghost of Ruiz, so which is worse?
  3. The players look as depressed as we are as fans. Just listless, no energy, no swagger, no fun.
  4. We got bat-flipped to the fucking moon. No one is afraid of this team right now.
  5. You local guys won't realize this, but for us out of towners ESPN's cameras use a slightly different camera location and angle on the plate, and it's weirdly noticeable compared to the normal home broadcast. Little quirky anachronism that doesn't make it seem like a 'home' broadcast. (Doesn't help that ESPN is going to be up the cubs' ass all night).
  6. I wish this was a day game - I'm in a hurry to wash the taste of the Indians series out of my mouth. Turn the tide, right the ship, whatever metaphor is needed - let's get a damn win. 🤘
  7. WE are, a while ago. It's a matter of when Jerry let's Hahn can him.
  8. Rick's harshest words are that "an off day is being considered" after what he's watched Robert do recently. What an unrepentant weenie. No faith in RR. He's on "fool me 43 times" at this point and still saying "shame on you".
  9. Angel Hernandez DEFINITELY calls that a strike Welp, there's another one.
  10. I think it's fairly obvious that he's a poster here or at the very least reads the site. A few days ago he tweeted about how fans should expect Hahn to target Quintana and Pederson in the off-season.... after there was a discussion in a thread here suggesting those should be our targets.
  11. I was thinking last night "man, I'd hate to be in that clubhouse right now." Timmy was fired up after his last AB (spiked his bat) and then obviously reacting to Angel's terrible calls. Team looks angry. Hopefully they can channel that into the right kind of anger - on the field, not at themselves. This is the time for guys like Keuchel and Abreu to be leaders in that clubhouse and get people in the right headspace to compete. Let's show it tonight, boys.
  12. TA getting the start and leading off again. Thought he might be given the night off with the hamstring tightness, but hopefully this means it was nothing. Let's get back into a rhythm and get some Ws.
  13. A number of our top-30 are committed to Glendale. Really looking forward to hearing reports of what they look like in action.
  14. Same thing as looking at last night's lineup without TA. Only one player different, but world's different look to the lineup. Give the bullpen a final piece like Crochet to glue it all together and the puzzle really comes together.
  15. We want the B-team, so maybe we ARE resting some guys by letting Mazara play 😉
  16. Can you imagine Cease facing off against the Yankees with all of their bats coming back? It would be a dinger fest.
  17. This. I hate hate hate West Coast games because they start at 10pm ET for me. Playoff hockey can go until 1am - a playoff baseball game will go until 2am. Hell, last night's game was 4 hours long and it wasn't even high scoring. Games consistently ending after midnight in the team's hometown are not good for viewership, and I thought the whole reason we're playing baseball this year anyway is for the money the playoffs are supposed to make.
  18. MLBN is airing their panelists right now ranking their top rotations entering the playoffs. Pedro Martinez listed the Sox as his 5th- best rotation, Giolito and Keuchel getting a lot of love.
  19. Who is less reliable - Not Steve Cishek, or the real Steve Cishek?
  20. This. Highest ceiling AND longest window. We're 11 over .500 and have two threads about division rivals. We don't need to be looking in the rearview mirror at the other rebuilding teams. Let's plant the flag and establish that we're the team to beat for the next 6+ years with this core locked up for the foreseeable future. Win ballgames, don't worry about the other guys.
  21. DJ LeMahieu (.380) is currently batting 20 points higher than Tim but doesn't qualify for minimum at bats. Not sure if he'll reach the qualifier mark by the end of the season with the time he's missed?
