I don't know Bruce's contract but I want everyone to see this before commenting. I don't know if getting him would be a good move or not. With that said, the WS tried 2 other LH power bats coming from the National league to American league(Dunn and LaRoche). How did that work out?

The last guy we got from the NL is one of the top home run hitters in all of baseball. Sounds pretty good to me.

Things aren't going well but this lineup is much better than the current one:

1. A. Eaton RF

2. J. Abreu 1B

3. M. Cabrera LF

4. T. Frazier 3B

5. J. Bruce DH

6. B. Lawrie 2B

7. A. Avila C

8. A. Jackson CF

9. T. Anderson

Bench

C D. Navarro

IF T. Saladino

OF C. Coghlan

IF/OF L. Garcia

Yes, I traded for Jay Bruce and Chris Coghlan. Coghlan has been awful but this team is terrible vs RHP and needs to do something.

I'd love someone like Will Smith for the bullpen as well.

D. Robertson RHP

N. Jones RHP

W. Smith LHP

Z. Duke LHP

J. Petricka RHP

Z. Putnam RHP

Another RH

Starters

1. C. Sale

2. J. Quintana

3. J. Shields

4. C. Rodon

5. M. Gonzalez

This team is solid on paper and it can be done. It'd need to happen soon though.

They should be getting their king's ransom for Sale, Eaton and Quintana.

Let me know when this organization is good at scouting and development for that to be considered a reality. That would be the when JR dies or sells, and all head office removed plan for that to be a reality.

This also happens to be the rare offseason when all of the big free agent deals are working out pretty darned well, other than Heyward and Upton. That's usually not the case.

Fwiw, I would also include Alex Gordon on the list, although the argument for keeping him isn't insignificant from a pr/hometown hero perspective.

Those are some pretty big "Other Than"s.

Cespedes sure would have looked nice in our lineup.

If they trade Tim Anderson for anyone at this point, that's the very last straw.

The last straw for what? You making 100 posts a day on a White Sox board?

That said, I hope they don't trade Tim Anderson, and highly doubt that they will.

The Sox wouldn't get prospects only for Sale and Quintana.

It's like the Braves trading Teheran.

They want the equivalent hitter and then prospects...so, let's say, Ozuna with the Marlins as the centerpiece, then pieces.

But you absolutely have to hit on those MLB-ready pieces (see Avi Garcia/Davidson/Nestor Molina NOT being hits). Another example is the Santiago for Eaton deal (Eaton had a bad rep already with AZ's veterans and AJ Pollock was coming up behind him, perceived to have more overall upside at the time, barring injuries.)

I'm pretty sure he doesn't post this much when things are going well like April.

yes, Jay bruce is the difference maker.

Keep throwing good money after bad, Kenny Hahn.

And please don't mention the name Anderson (or Fulmer, or Adams) in the same sentence with Bruce. I know there is a high reverence for a year or 2 of low OBP NL sluggers, but that would be ridiculous.

As soon as they print the standings on the financial pages, I'll care more about them trying to win this year by spending money.

I get that Bruce is having a great year but we've been stung by these NL guys coming and DHing and struggling. Not playing the field is something they struggle with.

In addition to his .914OPS, he has a .3 WAR. That's replacement level. How is that? His defense is atrocious. He is exactly the type of player who needs to come over and slide into a DH role and stay far away from the OF.

Fine, but pay the PRICE of a .3 WAR.

There is zero, absolutely zero chance that Williams/Hahn pay a .3 WAR price for him.
