  2. Not to be confused with bench coach W.McKinven (came from MIL) also drawing interest from other teams around the league...
  3. Unfortunately, Jerry hasn’t sold the team yet so he is still responsible for the payroll this offseason.
  4. "The main question is whether the weaker position player class means that Sato can get to six years and/or $25 million in AAV; I have him just missing both, but wouldn't rule out him reaching both. This contract would mean the signing team sends $19.125 million in posting fees to Hanshin, making a full outplay of just over $134 million. My guess is the upper range for Sato is the full outlay of Kyle Schwarber's $150 million deal from last winter; Schwarber is a very proven player and a similar type, even though he hit the market for his age-33 season compared with Sato before his age-28 season." Seem to be moving off 3B for Sato to RF LF 1B DH. Taira because of his size and durability concerns is going to be fascinating...$72.5 million would be just under biggest Sox contract to Beni
  5. Have had that same projection up for a month or more "So does Tuesday's news mean anything? Not really, considering how much the cap remains a nonstarter for the union. Above all else, this latest proposal is a sign that the league is attempting to shift conversations about the cap from the theoretical to the actual. MLB's openness to delaying the cap is a recognition of the inevitable logistical conundrum that rolling out a new system would cause." yahoo.com/sports
  6. Not even Thanos Musk Zuck Bezos Ricketts Soros Bloomberg Thiel Ellisons can stop the Ishbias!!! They are simultaneously invincible omniscient and irrepressible.
  7. Perhaps they're looking for people a bit more youthful (no offense).
  8. The only way to find out is to not respond, sadly, which takes away from the entertainment.
  9. Getting Nashon back might be the move. It’s not flashy but he knows this staff
  10. See Jaylon last year. We were so pumped for his return
  11. Obviously I/we all don't expect this to happen, but TIFWIW.
  12. Davis Martin is ambidextrous?
  13. Lot of days off built into post season. Davis Martin also only pitched 1 inning of mop up ball

The White Sox are on the rise, but they need veteran enhancements across the board, and that starts at the top of their rotation. King would be the undisputed ace and most proven starting pitcher in Chicago's starting rotation, providing a needed lift to a unit that was 26th in ERA (4.60) and tied for 24th in WHIP (1.34). Moreover, their starting staff was last in innings pitched in the regular season (674 ⅔) and manager Will Venable only got 17 ⅔ innings from starting pitchers/openers across the team's seven postseason games. How is that last note even possible? On the bright side, right-hander Sean Burke (3.34 ERA and 4.2 wins above replacement across 27 starts and 32 appearances in 2026) looks like a future All-Star and left-hander Davis Martin (3.95 ERA in 28 starts, 29 appearances) has shown promise. Add King to their rotation, and the White Sox have their veteran leader
  15. WestEddy will argue 2006-2010, Adam Dunn, Cabrera/Robertson/Samardzija and then 2021-23.

  17. Reinsdorf decided he wanted a total monopoly over the Sox neighborhood...from the very beginning. Or parking lots. The reason those entertainment districts work in places like Atlanta or Wrigleyville is you have at least 20-35% investment from the private sector. There's not going to be legitimate private interest in these type of investments without a reasonable expectation of profitability. Sox are only a year or two removed from having the lowest net revenues in all of MLB...behind Miami Oakland and TB even. Ishbia Brothers also reported to be only 40% owners of the team ATM...they don't possess the controlling shares either, so what exactly are they supposed to do here???
  18. And Peters (S) is very uncertain to hold up as well...nobody would be surprised by a falloff there. They probably also pass on overpaying Grichuk based on 2026, who balanced the lineup against lhp.
  19. It would be nice, but Jerry isn't going to spend no matter what you call him.
  20. If you can't see the fact that these two are 100% working together on a common goal, it's because you do not want to see it. Jerry Reinsdorf is the one baseball in Chicago owner that has come the closest to actually moving the Chicago White Sox, and no one else. He didn't give a s%*# about 35th and Shield when he looked to move to Addison, when he looked to move to Florida, and the same hold true today. It means nothing to him. Quit trying to blame it on the new guy, who is continuing Jerry's work of the last 4 decades.
  21. MLB Proposing delaying salary cap issue to 2028… Passan ESPN Article
  22. Typical White Sox boneheaded move. I agree, he was a great manager.
  23. Forget a new stadium for like 10 years and sign a star or two like Skubal or Sato. Focus on the team rather than personal wealth. Put your money where your mouth is b1tch.
  24. Ishbias have already made the decisions and no one has the resources or ability to stop them...even the Reinsdorfs. Oh yea, brother Justin said the decision to move the White Sox is Jerry's and Jerry's alone. What a wizeass. The factr is that Ishbias decided (prior to any notifications or deliberations with the White Sox, the ISFA, neighbors and concerned Sox fans) to shitcan the area around Sox park with a multi-story 24/7 RR repair facility on 35th street and a railyard boneyard between Cermak and 39th street. The purpose for moving the railyard was initiated by Ishbia for private profit but can be defended very simply by claiming that it is also for a railroad purpose. All my life as a Sox fan I came to understand and appreciate the significance of the historic location and the traditions of a team team located there for generations. Then in comes a guy who just bucked out of a deal to acquire the Twins and unilaterally decides to erase the identify and traditions and create something for his own profit, a location bereft of neighborhood and tradition, things that the oldest franchises would never consider throwing away. (The New Yankee stadium is in the Bronx..across the street from the old Yankee stadium..)
