  2. Giving up Boston Smith and Walkow for a few months of Peralta who isn’t having a great season himself would be a tough pill to swallow….Boston has been raking down in Birmingham.
  3. Bonemer’s K rate has also dropped since getting promoted to AA all while maintaining a similar ISO & BB rate at a higher level. He had a rough stretch at High A where the K rate was starting balloon and after like a week of getting it under control he was promoted. It’s clear that something clicked because it’s no longer an issue. Anyone concerned about a 20 year old posting a 24% K rate in AA while maintaining a near .300 ISO and solid BB rate is off in their evaluation of the player. The numbers are plainly put insane and the only real question for Caleb is where he plays because he lacks the technical skills at several spots currently even he has more athleticism than some think.
  4. There isn’t anyone that gloms onto news and breaking stories than heyman. He is so fucking worthless when he calls the score
  5. On a personal level, I'm anti-dome since I love the impact the elements can play on a sport traditionally played outdoors. And I don't mind sitting in the rain or cold, I might even prefer it since there are likely fewer people in the park and I can wander around/sit where I want more freely. On the other hand, I'm sure a temperature-controlled climate would appeal to players (ie free agents we might want to sign) and help produce a larger fanbase. Rainouts would be a thing of the past. I think the positives of a dome outweigh the negatives, perhaps even from an economic perspective. I also like the idea of adaptive reuse and the current park is in fine shape, it would be wasteful and ecologically insensitive to construct a brand new park. I think a dome on an already-built park is more aligned with the political goals of Illinoisans than a brand new park is.
  6. I just saw Peralta at the airport getting on a flight to Tampa!
  7. Not disagreeing with you, but why is his K rate down so much vs. recent years?
  8. Oh f*** yeah, just finished work for the day too!! Let’s get some early action going!!
  9. Get him today so he can start tomorrow instead of Noah.
  10. Fully disagree on Wolkow. Teams have shifted towards prioritizing youth and ceiling in these types of deals. You say he’s been spinning in circles for a long time, yet he is a 20 year old in High A who has made some strides this year in terms of the K rate. He’s certainly a high variance player who likely amounts to nothing, but the ceiling if it were to click is insane. To think he has zero trade value is just simply wrong IMO.
  11. I've always been a pretty big Peralta guy. I'd take him for sure. That Mets situation is pretty brutal, and he's certainly had some bad luck with both balls in play and sequencing. The stuff still seems to be there for the most part. At the price above, I think I'd give it a whirl.
  12. If they trade any of the A+ ball guys, they can just cross the dugout this weekend
  13. Charles and Jerry would have a lot in common.
  14. Think he's already a real prospect. He's almost a full year under the average age there too so definitely not an old guy.
  15. I mean, if you're just going to cut, paste and retweet, be a little more accurate
  16. If you want to bicker over 8th, 10th, 12th feel free, but the point remains. It isn't a big return.
  17. Side note, looking at the Sox Top 30 to see who I'd think about trading instead of Smith, seeing Bergolla listed as playing in rookie ball with an estimated arrival of 2026 is funny.
  18. Tony Joe White's entire oeuvre is awesome. And yes, the better version. But c'mon, prime late Elvis.
  19. I'm not buying this rumor, at all. Unless our pitching coordinators, who already have a pretty mixed record of success, have identified an easy-to-fix flaw with Peralta and feel they can make him absolutely dominant and do so quickly, I don't think this is the kind of deal Getz is looking to make. The checkbook is open, why the hell would he choose to spend farm assets instead?
  20. This isn't even close to the best version of this song. Try "Poly Salad Annie" by the guy who originally did it back in 1969 Tony Joe White
  21. Seems sacrilegious if that sort of thing bothers you. Doesn't bother me but the whole thing just seems kinda lame.
