Let's look at the bright side - the Sox are going to have an absolute STAR in Caleb Bonemer
You railed on that I didn't predict 84 wins when I predicted 75+, 78 and 82. Maybe you should take your "make sense" meds.

Well, Samson sure didn't take it as life advice, as he only finished 2nd twice in 14 seasons. He finished lower all the rest. Maybe Reinsdorf didn't give him the primo advice of "always win", because it was free advice.

2027 Offense
Which is how you end up with a collective .199 BA and all those whiffs in the four divisional series.

Aren't you going to be right 25-33% of the time hyping every Sox prospect that comes down the pipeline? Not unlike WestEddy being overly optimistic coming into every season. If Ron883 actually scouted all these players in person and wrote up comprehensive reports on them in advance...otherwise "lay people" are merely guessing. Like Cali with Outman then Pages (50% right) or the debate about Lucas Giolito after his rough initial season back in the day.

2027 Offense
To be honest, the size of the R&D department won't even be the most important thing in the coming years. It's going to be more and more about how well your R&D department can utilize AI to crunch the numbers, find patterns, and come up with new ways to think about the game more efficiently. A lot of teams were trying to use AI to call pitches from the dugout. MLB outlawed that, but you can see where things are heading. Players all have tendencies and it's much harder for people to see the patterns over a course of a guy's entire career than it is for some AI model to do it. I'm not sure what teams already have, but I wouldn't be surprised if we see teams with models that can suggest pitch sequences based on a pitcher/batter strengths weaknesses and not just is he good against a cutter, but things like, how well does this guy's swing cover a cutter in this location with this kind of pitch shape? With how much raw and accurate data is out there with Statcast, the possibilities really are endless.

Definitely not the most recent, but the award winner for five straight years of failure.

2027 Rotation
I know there is no perfect free agent pitcher this year sans Skubal, but is anyone concerned that King's K rate dropped quite a bit this past year? All his expected and fielding independent numbers point to him being a 4+ ERA pitcher the past 2 seasons, almost a full run higher than his ERA during this time. When you're paying for a pitcher, you're paying him for what he might produce, not what he's produced before. None of his underlying metrics suggest that he will continue to be the low 3 ERA pitcher he's been. I doubt Jerry will pony up the $120+ million he might get over 5 years anyway, but just food for thought.

He's also impressed enough scouts to get a 25-35 milb Top 100 ranking as a lower round pick. Nobody thought Peters would come close to his milb numbers either, or they wouldn't have dumped him for a nominal fee. Without pitching you need to load up the lineup with guys who provide the most opportunities to score runs...Braden with the exception of that two run double wasn't much of a threat at all down the stretch. Plus the White Sox haven't expressed that much concern about Kolson and MuraKami hitting .197 and .212 or whatever it was. Finally, Sox always push prospects who light up the AFL.- Let's look at the bright side - the Sox are going to have an absolute STAR in Caleb Bonemer
Gotta go that far back in my track record, huh? Speaks volumes about how impeccable it has been.- 2027 Offense
Huh? A season long BA IS the definition of "quality at bats/contact". Not all solid contact goes for a hit and not all soft stuff in an out. A season long BA takes that all into account and evens it out. It's extremely rare that a player who peaks at .261 in AA ever has sustained MLB success. He has to improve by quite a bit before any callup.- What's next?...
We won't even get a seat at the table. Shame.- What's next?...
I'm guessing this was maybe after his Mets start where he couldn't get anybody out in the 3rd inning? His first few starts with the team weren't terrible. He didn't start for almost 2 weeks after his start in Minnesota. I wonder if that was to try and give him some time to recover.- What's next?...
He's thrown a ton of innings in his career and I do remember Mariners fans saying that his fastball velocity wasn't consistent leading up to the trade. It could be one of those things where the shoulder might have been ok when he was traded, but them having him mess with his mechanics and release point might have screwed things up more.- Fall/Winter Ball 2026
We will be glad we have Carlson when his time comes. We are clogged in the MI upper minors and ML team. When that all thins out, we'll have him ready. he has a ton of potential. Yea 1 pitcher probably would have won the Cle series; but who's to say that we would have even gotten that? Cubs traded their #1 guy for someone who couldn't make the postseason roster.. We could have also gotten that 1 pitcher with a better use of the pieces we did trade. July trades for buyers are tough propositions. On another matter, Bonemer will probably be ready out of the spring, at least on offense.- Fire Derek Shomon
Was that Yoan Moncada in the background?- What's next?...

Jacob Gonzalez Sandlin was erratic at best Braden was roughly 100+ ops points below the average mlb RFer Cubs' song lyrics jinx for G3 lol- Fall/Winter Ball 2026
Everyone who constantly harps about losing him on this site right now:- Let's look at the bright side - the Sox are going to have an absolute STAR in Caleb Bonemer
Can't wait to see how Bonemer handles AAA and (likely) his first partial MLB season next year.- What's next?...
Getz should get a F- for the deadline. Douchebag cost us the division and a playoff series ( at least one ). A more competent deadline and we’re still dreaming on a potential World Series birth. Disgusting. Edit: After reading further, it looks like the imaging was after he had thrown with the Sox… so he gets a solid F. Wow.- What's next?...
Give me a fucking break. All of this nonsense is old.- What's next?...
Truly un@fathomable.- What's next?...
I’m fine rolling with what we have ( and what we held onto ) on the positional side… but I really pray to fucking god that they make major changes in the rotation. If they don’t… especially after the 26 deadline… it’s another betrayal.- What's next?...
