I don't think he should have been made a reliever. They said they didn't want to return him as a starter because he wouldn't be stretched out and ready for MLB until mid-August. Well, guess when he debuted... Sure, he hasn't looked great recently, but he was very impressive as a starter in AAA and I wouldn't be surprised if his command would've been better had he been stretched out rather than pitching for the first time in 10+ days

Because you care more about the next White Sox owner being a hero for you than simply wanting the richest, smartest, and least risk adverse person possible. If the dude is willing to spend at the highest of levels and not be a dinosaur who forces his old school ways into impact our core processes, then yes I will anoint said owner the savior of my favorite sports team. Going from Jerry to that would be an absolute miracle. But please enjoy waiting out for that billionaire with a heart of gold to buy the team!

Urquidy against a hot Tigers team is kind of a worst case scenario. Martin may just be cooked for the year. It’s looked so bad. Quero tipping pitches ain’t helping, of course. I still hope Shane Smith figures it out. He’s really the only option with upside.

A lot of people here were saying the Sox needed two starters, Getz thought otherwise. Time will tell if that decision proves to be a mistake. Personally I think it will be.

How did they bungle McDougal? All the games have been close since he was called up. If you’re saying it’s how he showed bad command, I think we all knew it was possible/likely with him and Hagen.

They really bungled the McDougal situation. Also, not getting a second SP at the deadline could prove costly. I know people here like Fedde, but he’s not a serious rotation option. Really need one of Urqudiy, Shane Smith, or Thorpe to step here in the coming weeks.

Good. Put him on the 20 day IL (I know that's not a thing). Give me a mixture of Urquidy/Thorpe/Shane Smith

I guess it's better than having only two starters like in October 2020. Some things never change I guess.

Hopefully Urquidy can give them some quality innings.
