How soon do they need to figure out the 40-man, active roster move? I'd assume when he shows up which I doubt would happen today?

It's a waiver claim, he has to be put on the 40-man, so someone is getting cut.

I would expect Thorpe, who will also be rested, would be ahead of Shane in the pecking order given how brutal Shane has been besides his last AAA outing. But of course, there's no guarantee that Thorpe will be good enough so we could end up seeing Shane anyway. Other than a shaky most recent appearance, Cannon has been pitching well in AAA for a little while. I'd probably prefer to see Noah and Sandlin over either Cannon and Shane, though.

Exactly, as some of us thought would be the case given Davis' struggles in the early innings. In hindsight, given how terrible Davis has been, the only other option would have been to put him on the 10 day. Not sure what they will do with that guy now. What a time for him to blow up. Kind of curious what the plan is for Bonemer. Kid has a 149 wRC+ in just shy of 200 PAs at AA. Obviously we should not call him up to the majors this year, but how much more time does he need in AA? Do they consider giving him a taste of AAA before year end? And do they consider part of the early season major league mix next year? He’s starting to force the issue on that last point, which could require us to make some trades to open up a starting for him.
