What's next?...
SS2k5 doesn't need me to speak for him, but he did say he hasn't seen it. He hasn't argued that generic "he sucks" comments can't be driven by any subconscious bigotry. Mention Trevor Bauer, our current president, Gay Pride nights, or a host of other subjects, and some off-center comments come right to the fore and cause a string to be shut down. Schriff is awkward and unknowledgeable. Maybe some get pickier because they won't give him the chance to grow due to his ethnicity. But I've never witnessed that type of ugliness rear it's head here over Schriff's ethnicity. Even argumentative accusations have fallen flat because they're so ridiculous.

I understand the frustration with TEEL but I'm not ready to trade him or give up on him. I would love to see him paired with a Ryan Jeffers.

What's next?...
I liked that he had good and bad uh-ohs

2026 NFL thread
I bet many of these current Bears players don’t even know who Ditka is.
-
What's next?...
I still miss his “UH-OH!!!” homerun calls. At least if they aren’t that good, they can still be funny as hell. 🤣
-
What's next?...
I honestly think the tenuous state of his career is part of the reason he is more willing to attack over things that might be costing him opportunities in the future.

Upcoming Free Agent Signing + Labor Contract Uncertainty
I have to imagine with the idea of imposing a top end salary cap, we will see the NYM and LAD of the world sit this one out, or at least not spend on the top end of the market. It might actually be a strategic advantage for teams on the bottom end, if there is indeed a floor coming, to spend now to get above it before prices crash and it becomes harder to hit those numbers.

What's next?...
Imagine how he will be after he retires from baseball without anyone to compete and confront. It's easy to imagine him making headlines.

What's next?...
I can't remember the last time I heard someone complain about Jackson.

Upcoming Free Agent Signing + Labor Contract Uncertainty
The 2026–27 offseason could be one of the strangest free-agent markets we've seen in years. The current collective bargaining agreement expires December 1, 2026, and the possibility of a lockout creates uncertainty for both players and owners. It seems like some guys will try to sign early especially the bigger money guys. The journeymen may want to wait. I could also see aggressive teams wanting to increase their payroll before a cap. Regardless they will play the usual brinkmanship game of threatening to lose a season etc.

Fire Derek Shomon
I don't think the Guardians threw many elite arms at us in game 3 and we still struck out 19 times.

Erick Fedde deserves praise
I'm certain JR would accept your generous offer. I'll be surprised if he doesn't find a home for a few million in that role.
-
Fire Derek Shomon
I loved their approach against Messick (both times) and Williams, the first time they faced him.
-
What's next?...
Exactly, and Stone Pony carried on that tradition from Hawk.

Our Pope
I hope so. Yeah, if it was localized, his chances of recovery are very good.

Fire Derek Shomon
Or it reached its limits against close to elite pitching...wellx maybe not Griffin, although even he made the All Star team with WSH first half.
-
What's next?...
I also thought he was able to grow when he got out from under the shadow of Hawk's enormous ego. I loved Hawk in his heyday but he didn't exactly get along well with his partners.

That doesn't make mocking it any less shitty.

I think DJ was far too green when he was thrown on TV. He has improved a great deal with experience and since his move to radio. I think a lot of people like him now.

Fire Derek Shomon
Here are a couple more stats for people who want to fire Shoman and see the White Sox rework their offensive approach. Chase Rate / O-Swing%(Swinging at pitches out of the zone): 2022 White Sox: 34.7% (4th worst in MLB) 2026 White Sox: 28.8% (Better then league average) Zone Swing % (Swinging at strikes): 2022 White Sox: 69% (top of the league) 2026 White Sox: 68.2% (top ten) Whiff% (swing and miss) 2022 White Sox: 24.1% 2026 White Sox: 27.8% Because the White Sox had no plate discipline in 2022, they struck out less even though they swung at everything. In 2026, they traded that aggressiveness to only swing hard at pitches they could actually do some damage on. I actually think, and statistical analysis backs me up here, that the issue in Games 3-5 is that they abandoned the approach that had brought them to this point.

What's next?...
No joke. Your lived experience isn't the compass we all follow.
-
What's next?...
Again, i will point out that you mocking the experience of minorities for a joke is a horrific thing to be doing in 2026.
-
What's next?...
Just because you, personally, haven't witnessed it, does not mean it isn't occurring. Let's be mindful of microaggressions and unconscious bias.

Our Pope
Even though the node was cancerous (New York Times) it was small and localized. He’s in good hands.
