  1. Past hour
  2. Quick work, though the actual bonuses aren't listed beyond Roch
  3. Well that was easy. No Fennell as they communicated. He was a fallback option.
  4. Oh good. Another oft-injured RHH OF to add to the collection along with Austin Hays and Everson Pereira.
  5. Sox need a RH bat. Sox Receive: Luis Robert, Jr. Mets Receive: Andrew Benintendi I say: Bring Him Home
  6. Yup. Hope we get AJ in the booth
  7. I think I saw as well where Fox Sports is picking up the Cleveland/Sox game on August 8.
  8. I don't think he'll come cheap either but he's not exactly like getting Verlander like the Astro's did during their run. He may help or he'll continue to be meh. I probably should 've said reasonable instead of cheap. He's worth monitoring as a possible trade.

  10. Today
  11. Maybe, but I don't think he will be had for cheap. Angels were saying they didn't want to move him (or Soriano) last month when he looked like a great chip, so I doubt they would settle for a lower value now as Boston, Detroit, etc. getting back in the mix only makes it even more of a sellers' market.
  12. To me it's just a lack of understanding the culture you are dealing with. You come off as the loud crazy American when dealing with a soft spoken respectful culture and you need to listen even more carefully because there's also and interpreter involved. That's not ideal for a guy who never shuts up.
  13. Pretty sure he was just using him as an example of a guy from a team that should be a seller but might be too expensive due to the lack of sellers. I'm sure quite a few teams are checking in on him but maybe the Angels are playing hard to get with their talent hoping to drive up their prices.
  14. He'd be a great Bannister project if he can be had for cheap due to his recent slide. He's got a very good arm .Sometimes with guys like him all it takes is a different pitch mix or 1 more pitch, then a different mix.
  15. As I expected. On both.
  16. He'll bring injuries and bad luck to the Guardians like he did to the Mets and Sox !!! Yes trade him to the Guardians !!
  17. Yeah totally. Might be better off taking your chances as an UDFA.
  18. I'm pretty disinterested in Detmers for what his cost is likely to be. One season of 100+ IP with < 4 ERA in his career, so the upside is limited. And for folks who are worried about Martin's recent fatigue signaling regression, well... Career 4.69 ERA, 4.39 on the season, 4.55 in his last 10 starts, but because he's 27 with two arb years left (and had 3 great starts in June) I've seen packages like Schultz/Hagen + Carlson + Bergolla thrown out there for him. That's an enthusiastic no from me.
  19. Ahh Thank you for explaining that to me. I must be part of the hippie culture still listening to folk songs about peace, love and understanding.
  20. I’d say the likelihood of bringing Cease back with him having about 190 million left is less than 1% 😆 But if they were to take on a deal it would be under this type of scenario, he checks all the boxes: Former Sox player Large amount of deferred money that is likely to not be an available contract structure soon Ace level talent and track record Still… you’re absolutely right. Until Jerry turns the team over, I too will believe them signing a pitcher for more than 4 years at a 9 figure rate when I see it. And I’m not holding my breath. I just miss dudes sweet slider slide. 😆
  21. It’s simply a matter of prospect capital IMO. In our revised top 10 we have one fringe level starting pitcher but we also have 6 shortstops / infielders. Pretty obvious that we use our position of strength and match up with another organization that is similarly deep with pitching options. May it be Carlson or someone else, the only truly untouchable guys in our lower ranks are likely Roch and Thome. I could see them dealing anyone else, including Bonemer, if the right offer come along. It’s rare an arm would present itself that requires him… whereas I think it’s more likely that we match up with a team who is offering a pitcher that has value to match Billy better.
  22. Until it actually happens, I don't believe in any way the Sox are going to trade for a $200 million contract or sign someone to one. I mean its fun to kick around, but Dylan Cease was traded because they had no intentions to pay him. Same reason Crochet was traded. They aren't going to turn around and take on that contract. Same reason why I think its foolish to let Mune reach free agency, they will lose him if that happens.
  23. It's really nice. I went like 25 years ago tho, not sure how it's aged but sounds like it's held up. One thing is it doesn't feel like a dome, not quite as advanced as the roof at T-Mobile, but similar. We're on Apple TV tmr, dad gumit.
  24. Man… if we could get Cease and his love affair with his slider back in town, that would be a flipping dream come true for this club. Too bad it’s never gonna happen. Just for shits and giggles, say Toronto comes to you with an offer of “Bonemer, Hagen Smith, and Fauske for Cease” — Do you bite? I sure as s%*# would, especially after we just had the draft we had. For someone like Detmers, I wouldn’t want to exceed a package of something like Carlson plus Oppor… and that is only because we just drafted Thome and Prosek.
