THATS ANOTHER WALK OFF WHITE SOX WINNER
Today's batters are facing velocity with so many pitchers giving max effort on every pitch. The pitchers are not as guarded because they know TJ surgery is an industry expectation. THATS ANOTHER WALK OFF WHITE SOX WINNER
Your first place Chicago White Sox improve to 68-62 with their 11th walkoff win. 13 games into this intense 16 game stretch without an off day, they are managing a winning record so far. It can make for a stressful watch, but being able to win a series vs. a hot team while playing less than their best baseball is still a positive. Detroit was swept by KC and look nearly finished. Twins were also swept by SD with their new BP arms getting lit up today. Guards managed to win consecutive games for the first time in a month while sweeping the Rockies. That leaves our Sox 3.5 up with CLE and their baby soft schedule back to being the closest threat.

Is It Time To Call Up Bonemer?
Someone has to be traded

Catchers, Catchers, Anywhere?
I have a feeling it’s Nishida, but could be a catcher.

I thought Friday’s was better but that may have been DJ’s, “Now let’s celebrate! Let’s jump up and down! I love it!” The shot at Yan made me giggle.

The modern game is based around the home run. They do need to be better about situational hitting but I'd much rather be us then the Guardians who don't have a lot of power. lack of power in 2022 killed this team.

Catchers, Catchers, Anywhere?
Are we going to use the expanded roster spot on a catcher? Seems like a waste to carry 3 when theyre a bad unit.

Fair. But it's also true that if you at least can put the ball in play good things can happen. If you have a lot of strike outs, well...nothing can happen except maybe a dropped third strike. The batting averages of Vargas, Muni and Colson are now .246, .223 and .213 respectively...I mean that's not good at all. Makes you appreciate even more what guys like Thomas, Konerko, Ordonez, Lee and Valentin did in the early 00's. They hit a ton of home runs and also had good batting averages.

While it is true that the Sox are not good at manufacturing runs I wouldn't say that it is all or nothing since when you are 1st in the AL in run scored and 3rd in baseball in HRs building your team to take walks (11th MLB) and hit HR's because and of the park we play home games is what should always be done . Another benefit is that the White Sox hit into the least amount of DP's in MLB !

Shane Smith update...
Dang, to bad his control is out of control.

THATS ANOTHER WALK OFF WHITE SOX WINNER
The post-game show was really good today, Our Chuck was eating hot wings for losing the pick to click with Ozzie. Then they interviewed Emma, the "cutie patootie", that got the walk off homer from Friday night. She gave Rogers the ball and he gave her a signed bat, signed a ball, and a signed jersey.

Really impressive the success he's having as a 6 year old!

Shane Smith update...
From Fegan's Sun-Times story this afternoon: Whither Shane Smith? How has Shane Smith gone from opening day starter to a 5.56 ERA in Triple-A? A hangover from a career-high 146 1/3 innings last year, which he had never previously approached, is part of it. But the Sox don’t think the offseason alterations he made to simplify his delivery have served him well. “He made some compensations that felt good to him, but I think took away some of the kind of magic elements he had in his delivery, and the variance in his movement, and a lot of the things that allowed him to have that All-Star season last year,” said Sox senior advisor to pitching Brian Bannister. “We were starting to get back to that, and then he was dealing with the shoulder stuff.” After issuing five free passes on Sunday, Smith has 22 walks in 31 2/3 innings with the Charlotte Knights since returning from a rotation cuff strain last month.

Brutal. Not a fan of Payton.

Bullpen numbers...
Had Fedde started could he had and gone 6 or 7 innings today? possibly, he was dealing. The Sox pen pulls out another GEM, Newc openes with 2 innings, 2 innings of high leverage complete shutdown from Hagen, Grant got touched up for 1 run but held the damage to a minimum. A total team win from the Sox pitchers.

Pretty sure he was always truly a Cubs fan, not a Sox fan.

Although this would have been perfectly acceptable for today. My youngest noticed Peters’ birthday is February 29 and speculated that’s why he chose #29.

Pope gives them overall power. Ben Johnson has given Bears, Sox and Cubs fans cardiac arrest.

Gary Peters was 26 when he won ROY. Tristan Peters is 26, he might not win the ROY, but he made the All-Star team.

8/23 White Sox vs Mets: Newcomb vs McLean
I noticed that too that Robert had turned his back to head back to 3rd base but good baseball players don't turn their back to the action they sideways walk it with eyes on the ball or do a shuffle like we used to do to practice defense in basketball, feet apart but not crossing over. That throw made it to deep SS close to 2nd base before everyone yelling woke Colson up.

Twins bullpen gives up the lead again. It's starting to look like it'll be the Sox vs. Cleveland for the division.
