There's nothing for you to agree or disagree with. The average batting average in MLB right now is .239. It's just math.

Not sure i agree with this at all. A 40 mlb hit is a 240ish hitter. I guess if you want to move it down 10 points because of the league shift towards lower averages I could buy that. Has grade inflation infiltrated the world of prospects too now?!?

Not even close. Ranked 498 at BA (probably moving up after the Combine showing) and 236 at Over-Slot. This is a raw tooled up guy that's probably a corner OF with hit tool concerns. Someone to dream on though. It's a Padres draft pick if I've ever seen one.

40 hit would be below-average which isn't even usually a big league regular. Being a .240 hitter is generally seen as average (50) and the landscape now is even more skewed.

Fans paid good money to see the best the players have to offer...not just go through the motions of finishing a lopsided game.

Maybe they're gonna let him build some confidence off that strong start by facing a few AAA teams inbetween last night and his next big league start, he looked fantastic

What is crazy about thinking roch is a 240-250 big league hitter?- Sandlin called up to start, Rock sent down to work on himself

Here's our draft profile from FutureSox: https://www.futuresox.net/2026/06/27/2026-mlb-draft-profile-roch-cholowsky/ 40 hit is insane. This isn't even worth debating with you at this point.- And that is a 22-1 [largest defeat in KC HISTORY!] WHITE SOX WINNER
Yeah, and as I just posted in the other thread - Venable was right. It wasn't even a tie between Vargas's foot and the ball going into the mitt. It's not like he tried to challenge the call when Vargas as clearly out or where the umps had to look at umpteen different angles to figure out the right call.- Time Marches on: Royals at Sox 6:40 CDT 6/26
Agreed. To me, bush league is someone trying to bunt in the 9th down 10-0 just to break up a no-hitter. If someone disagrees, it's not a hill I'm going to die on, it's just a good example I could think of. Or that bullshit that A-Roid pulled shouting "I got it" to the infielder trying to catch a popup while running the bases. In this case, I mean Venable was right - Vargas did beat the throw.- And that is a 22-1 [largest defeat in KC HISTORY!] WHITE SOX WINNER
fwiw royals broadcast had no problem with it either. RBI is used in arb cases, if he hadn't challenged I'd be pissed at Will.- 6/27 Games

Screen grab from last night's game. Interesting that the last time the Sox scored 22 runs was the season they lost 106 games! Also note that of these top 5 run-scoring games, 2 were against Kansas City, 2 were against Boston, and two were against the A's. That 29 runs in 1955 looks like it was maybe the A's sixth home game after moving to Kansas City.- And that is a 22-1 [largest defeat in KC HISTORY!] WHITE SOX WINNER

It’s fascinating to see so many Sox fans here write-off young players if they don’t produce right away or go through a slump. I’ve seen multiple posts of Jacob Gonzalez needing more “seasoning” in AAA because of his recent struggles, when his next step of development needs to be at the major league level. Braden had a bad week and there was similar commentary. People are now writing off Meidroth as a utility man because of an admittedly very bad June. One poster claims Quero has lost all trade value because of a bad 2026 season. Some of these guys will flop or underperform, but short term failure is not a death sentence like many here think.- Time Marches on: Royals at Sox 6:40 CDT 6/26

Pal, roch has no where near elite bat to ball skills and he absolutely doesnt have 4+ tools. Roch Is a 40 run, 40 hit, 50 power, 65 field, 60 arm for me. The guy just hit 320 in the big 10. It's just not very impressive for a 1-1.- Today
