  1. Past hour
  2. I was thinking of 1994 in the US specifically. Then it never happened.
  3. Look at Grichuk's production, he was an in-season F/A signing and fits into your narrative. The big splash might look like the smart move, but it doesn't always work out.
  4. Millionaires and billionaires going at it, just work it out behind closed doors please. I don't want to see or hear either side air their dirty laundry. I have no empathy for either.
  5. Leagues are already here https://cricclubs.com/CenturyCricketLeague
  6. BamaDoc replied to BamaDoc's topic in FutureSox Board
A nice night for the Knights pen. Iriarte, Pallette, and Peoples each with two scoreless. Perhaps some of the bullpen help that is needed is in AAA?

  8. The largest crowd I was ever at for a baseball game was in 1973, it was packed to the gills. A doubleheader bat game against the Twins, the attendance was 55,000 (so they say)
  9. Looking at the splits, Chase rakes against LP and Sam kills it against RP. Platooning and coming off the bench during the game is an option.
  10. Out of curiosity I just did a google search on Indian population in Chicagoland area and it is over 235,000 thousand. Making the Chicagoland area the 2nd largest Indian population in the country. Cricket is going to keep growing locally and more leagues will start up.
  11. Today
  12. BEST PONTIFF EVER!!!! Well, JP2 was pretty cool also to be fair but I still stand with my assessment.
  13. In with the new out with the old. As Boomers and Gen X age out the generations that grew up with soccer will continue to grow the sport.
  14. It's like saying the Bulls were absolutely prepared to take one of Dybansta, Peterson, Boozer or Wilson
  15. My brother-in-law is a lifelong Sox fan and also Polish, he has also been joking about Roch owning this town. I just love the fact that Roch is an elite fielder on top of having a lethal bat. Whoever the Sox do end up drafting has to be elite with the glove in my opinion. I like what I am seeing so far with the Sox defense and want to keep it going.
  16. Pong was the biggest video game when I was a kid, and that got boring pretty quick, so we still played any game we could throw or kick a ball in the alley, parking lot or across people's front yards. American professional soccer doesn't really get the top stars, so I'd guess it's hard to develop an enduring fan base to watch American up-and-comers and world stars in their twilight. It's probably like fans coming out to watch a 45-year-old Ricky Henderson play in the Atlantic League.
  17. There are Indian households around the north side, so I semi-regularly see kids cricketing on a playground. That's fun. They probably sit on their bikes outside the back door of their friends' house and just yell their name until they come out.
  18. I am old and useless, but I think the non-Boomers posting would tend to be soccer fans. Growing up I had absolutely no knowledge of soccer at all. We played sandlot baseball games all day until dinner time in the summer, football in the fall, hockey in the winter. If soccer was thing in my youth, we probably would have played pick-up games, we had tons of kids in the neighborhood.
  19. For the first time I have seen Cricket being played while driving past a park in Schaumburg. There is a couple billion people in the world that are Cricket fans.
  20. I don’t want to go full Caulfield here, but you know Boyer is pushing hard for the Sox to take Roch. Would be an immediate favorite with this fan base.
  21. They still have to do their due diligence in case the guy they want is chosen ahead of them.
  22. Dude, if this kid is what they say he is, he will own this city lmao. DIS GUY RIGHT HERE DIS ROCK GUY
  23. Cholowsky is just such a southside name.
  24. Hamish Linklaters part in Widows Bay is so bizarre and hilarious.
  25. But he is currently out because of back issues
  26. It’s really not changing while it’s happening. The excitement is from the world. The US In this and being cheered but let’s not pretend our crowds are into this even 1/5th of the excitement that other nations show. Soccer will remain a distant sidebar in US sports
  27. This conversation happens everytime around the world cup and nothing changes ultimately once it’s over.
