i would be shocked if this indeed happens!!!

How does every thread turn into the same tired Chris Getz fight? We’re on the verge of signing the Japanese Babe Ruth and half the board can’t stop bickering with each other over a bunch of non-sense. Let’s get fucking amped and stop with all the damn in-fighting.
-
I’ve been consistent. The Sox won’t be signing Murakami at all because Jerry is cheap. Look at all the acquisitions thus far. Kay is probably going to be the largest contract handed out this offseason. But I’m not going to praise acquisitions like Hill, Murphy, Pereira, Peters, and Kay. Let’s be honest — these are acquisitions that a garbage team makes. Period. The end.
-
You personally willed half of the Murakami/Sox rumors into existence. Well that, Schoenfield speculation and Duquette piling on because there's so little credible information to actually report.
-
Then I guess I should get busy posting "I'm okay if they sign him or don't - there's good arguments for either" over and over and over on every string, just to hammer home the narrative that I'm good either way.

White Sox win draft lottery, will pick #1 in 2026
WhiteSox2023 replied to Buehrle>Wood's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The other problem with the last rebuild is that they finally had a competitive team but went cheap in free agency and didn’t bolster the team with top tier free agents. The same thing is going to happen again unless Ishbia takes over the team in 2029 and spends money. -
Or maybe your gimmick is known by numerous posters here now, just as I stated.
-
...or, maybe I don't wrap my entire identity around "Chris Getz sucks" or "the move I just thought of MUST happen".

This classic scene describes WestEddy to the T. Talks on both sides of his mouth so he can defend any decision that his lord and master Getzie makes.

This thread is fucking hot! We are less than 48 hours out now! Keep them rumors coming!

White Sox win draft lottery, will pick #1 in 2026
Chicago White Sox replied to Buehrle>Wood's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The biggest issue with the previous rebuild was a lack of future wave of prospects to support the original core, partially driven by safe / need-based drafting. We should be talking the best, high talent ceiling regardless of position in the draft moving forward and in rounds 2 & 3 of next year’s draft that will likely be prep players with the amount of pool dollars we should have. - Yesterday

Is “The 78” Dead? Or even more alive? Fire announce plans for SSS

Gainbridge and Lucas Oil were very publicly funded. Indiana throws money at businesses, not public infrastructure. -

Also, I would imagine that the Bears would do as poorly (politically) in Indianapolis as they do in Springfield. Most of Illinois hates Chicago, and I can't imagine Indiana is any different. Besides, they already have a football team. -

Quin replied to soxfan18's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Reinsdorf realized he can't get his money and straight up (partially) sold the team to a guy who could hypothetically build it solo (not saying the Ishbias will, but they have the capital). If JR knows when to throw in the towel on the political bluff, the McCaskeys and Warren should realize Indiana won't work as leverage. -
Was I against? A) I didn't think he was in their plans or budget. Now he appears to be. B) All I've heard is he is a big strike out risk. They want a LHH 1B. He also plays 3B, so they have the ability to rotate with him. Signing him would be cool, signaling the end of their time in the wilderness, perhaps. Not signing him wouldn't anger me. A small bunch are playing the same game they did with Elko and such, like, they have 40-man space, so why not make a catastrophic $100M mistake? Getting on the map would be fun. I'm dubious about him being part of the next core. They could always slap a QO on him if he's good enough to opt out. You originally assured everyone the Sox couldn't sign him, and now that he appears to be in their range, you're trying to "save face" and poor mouth the kid. LOL.

Levine was marched out there to say his one or two sentences about this topic. If you listened to the rest of Inside the Clubhouse though they talked at length about how the Sox arent signing anyone that is gonna be a 3 year impact or a guy you establish as a core guy. Even in the Levine phrasing itself, wishfully everyone is ignoring the part where he says he's 'heard a little talk about__' I think to get its own thread something like this should at its core have an actual reported rumor, and this doesnt even have that.
-
I heard he’s taking shots of Malort with Pritzker.
-
I heard he is in a booth at Soldier Field right now with Ishiba and Obama.
-
I need to see a more concrete report that we are interested than the speculation/fit pieces that have been dropped.

WestEddy being totally against Murakami and then wavering and stating lukewarm support for his potential marketing impact in order to demonstrate alignment with Getz actually signing him...so which is it, for or against? No conditions or if under a certain number of years/dollars....you are either for or against signing Murakami??? I, for one, am firmly for the signing. He's exactly what the White Sox need. Someone who people would pay to watch hit. 2+ years ago I started a thread asking who would fans pay to actually watch hit besides Robert/Burger? There were no good answers with C.Montgomery struggling mightily at the time. Now there's Colson Teel Braden Murakami (in theory) Cholowsky/Emerson/LeBron and the #2/3 draft picks behind him that would all answer that question. Heck, maybe even Bonemer.

I would love this. I will be even further elated if the White Sox get a competitive balance pick in a Pirates/Robert trade. -

I know we hear that this is a high talent level draft and there could be kids who come on strong during the season but as of now is the talent level greater among the college kids or HS kids ? Don't you think that with a decent core in the making now that its possible that 2 of the top 3 picks could be collegians with an eye on 2028 and 2029 to be back to being a lot more competitive if Cholowski and a high quality collegian in the 2nd round is available who has a high ask that might be available to the Sox ?
