  2. The funny thing is there is way less drinking at the park than when I was a kid. Back then, Veeck encouraged consumption of hard liquor out there. Stuff is tame compared to the bleachers in the late 70's.
  3. "While homeruns are yet to decorate the baseball card, most think Emerson should have no trouble growing into 20+ homerun output, potentially more as he continues to fill into his frame. Emerson has a chance to age into a special hitter if it can all click, a true hit and power threat. Defensively, Emerson has fully addressed the concerns of him sticking at shortstop as he now showcases plus arm strength across the diamond, solid range and a strong internal clock on top of being a plus runner. Most think he could end up a plus glove at third base, but he's got a strong chance to develop into at least and above average shortstop long term."
  4. I think, if you like him, the carrying tool is his hit tool. Obviously, that's a tough one to project, so if you don't like him, you focus on everything else which is closer to 50s across the card. So, as with all preps, there's some risk here. At PG National last year, he was the consensus top guy in the class. No one else really close, but on pure tools outside of Hit, Lombard has him beat. Elijah Green had a lot of tools too, though. Hit is an absolutely critical tool.
  5. Getting Eduardo Rodriguez via the salary dump route and a mid-level prospect would be fine with me. He is nothing special, but he will give you innings and is lefthanded.
  6. Projected somewhere/anywhere south of Bruce Harper...depending on who you talk to. Scouting Grades: He has received grades of Hit: 65, Power: 55, Run: 55, Arm: 60, Field: 60, Overall: 65 Future Projection: As Emerson continues to fill out physically, scouts expect his power to become more consistent. He projects to develop average to above-average power, potentially translating to 15–20+ home runs per season at the professional level once fully mature.
  7. Is his hit tool a carrying tool? I haven't seen it graded as a 70 anywhere, but maybe it is. I've said before, I don't pretend to have scouted Emerson.
  8. To which tool are you referring? Hit tool?
  9. Now Emerson doesn’t have a high end hit tool?
  10. He's barely a four tool player. More like 3 1/2...

I think Romero was HBP, right?
  12. I respect how you take a different approach than the herd. It really adds to the discussion. I am very hit tool forward, so of those listed I like Bell. Lackey has a huge upside, but his performance against velocity scares me. I think Burress has a real shot to be Wyatt Langford-lite, but as a short R/R dead pull hitting potential corner with considerable bust potential, I think he's rich for 1/1. I wish I liked Flora more. His K numbers in a mid-major conference are honestly confusing to me. I am not a Reese fan cuz of defensive questions. But I agree, they could all be solid pros.
  13. sorry for confusion. the WS meant the White Sox
  14. What on earth is he doing in WS and not in Charlotte by now, did they forget about him?
  15. Could Roch be a six-tool player with the addition of the Hopak dance? Virsky povzunets HOPAK dance #dance #hopak #ukraine #memes
  16. Today
  17. I know everyone likes to agree with each other in the scouting space, but there's a reason baseball has such volatility in the draft. This year is wide open to me.
  18. Like very low chance he is there for Saturday, right? I'll be there for the derby.. Seems like that would be too quick a rehab for how long he's been out. I imagine they hold him out through the all star game.
  19. I went downtown and it's definitely alot more 30's and 40's crowd that wanted to party. It was kind of cool. They were doing some marathon to canada so it was packed. Cleveland there's a popular sports bar in a old mall that has no stores. The Bar was really good but walking around the mall you felt like someone was going to stab you.

  21. So... he's going to grow into tools? Color me skeptical. Bobby Witt clearly had elite tools, not just top-tier skills. I don't understand why anyone compares the two outside of them both playing for Rusty Greer. Witt had a better arm, better glove, better speed, and more immediate and projectable power. He also was more likely to get to his hit tool because he had 80 speed. Bobby had THREE carrying tools, and Emerson has... zero? Also, Bobby had his full-year of pro-ball wiped out because of COVID.
  22. I'd take the following players over Emerson and Roch: Lackey Burress Flora Bell Reese For someone really far out there, I like Strosnider's tools better, and while I probably wouldn't take him over them because I'm a coward I do think he has a higher pro ceiling and I wouldn't be surprised at all to see him have a better career. So I like him more.
  23. Yeah I went to Cleveland a couple years ago, downtown definitely did not feel safe as night dropped.
