  1. Past hour
  2. Antonacci was hit by pitch an incredible 35 times last year, driving his OBP to Meidrothian levels
  3. Yeah, comparing similar levels, Meidroth has always walked more. They only disparity is comparing Antonacci's 13.3% walk rate across 3 levels (low A to AA) to Meidroth's major league rate of 8.9%. Apples and oranges.
  4. It also helps that it seems like Ben Johnson has seemingly been the perfect coach for him. God bless our crazy man.
  5. That last year of Carlos Lee was something to respect and appreciate from a badness perspective. He only went on to get worse when he left too. The crown probably has to go to Albert though. While defensive metrics are a little volatile, a consolidated ranking based on metrics going back to Belle's debut in 1989, if you exclude DH's and players years as a DH, Albert ranks 1029 out of 1039 defensive players who received more than 2000 innings in the field.
  6. Antonacci has walked more than Meidroth?
  7. Reds still keeping conversations open with Sox on Robert despite recent outfield additions per Whittenmeyer.
  8. My take with Luther was always that I love having Luther because I loved Luther (mizzou) but was criminal to not solve our holes. Well, in fact getting great players rules.
  9. Antonacci is just where Meidroth was a year ago. Those guys have run such similar numbers throughout their amateur career. One guy is just left handed. Antonacci has walked a bit more, but no way that continues with the guy running an ISO under .100. That's me being generous too since Meidroth just ran a .067 ISO for the year. If he doesn't add some power, he'll be dealing with the same challenges Meidroth deals with. No one wants to walk a guy who can't do damage, but neither guy punishes pitchers who challenge them and/or make mistakes. Meidroth is at least a ++ defender, while Antonacci can't really stick anywhere but 2B consistently on the infield (IMO).
  10. Brother this is not the season to be musing about draft position in December 😂
  11. This may sound idiotic but I'd package the #1 and Rome to move up in the draft for a top DL I think they will move Moore but will only get a late round pick for him Burden seems to be legit WR1 and Loveland TE1 you can sprinkle around him and Moore with the TE & RB room
  12. He has such a noodle arm for a MLB corner guy. Him and Juan Pierre are the worst I've seen on the South Side but at least Juan had some range even as a 30 something.
  13. Probably should. LF may be his eventual long-term home with how packed the infield situation is.
  14. Bonemer should also start getting OF reps in the minors.
  15. Honestly, I get the vibe the org is super high on Meidroth. Every interview I have heard recently from various members of our front office lists him as part of the core alongside Colson, Teel, & Quero, which I have found interesting. I like him a lot more than most people here as he has two elite traits that I think will lead him to above average offensive production, but I totally get why people are less high on him due to the lack of power. I also like Antonacci a ton and could easily see him stealing the 2B job from Chase eventually. It’s a good problem to have and one that can help solve itself with more positional versatility.
  16. I believe Baseball America mentioned in their top 10 write-up that the org will try to get Antonacci some run out in LF at some point.
  17. Today
  18. What in the world is pretty boy hitting?
  19. Well if you’re going to hold onto Robert and see if he can bounce back, might as well go all in and a potential top of rotation arm that won’t cost you a draft pick. Next year will only be his age 28 season.
  20. I remember my friends messaging me that the Bears drafted Burden and I was confused as hell why they'd take him with DJ and Rome (and two pass catching tight ends) in house and RBs on the board. Little did I know that it's ok to have more than one really good receiver (you can have lots of weapons) and I don't need to fall in love with shiny running backs when Monangai exists.
  21. 1 blind spot my life as a bears fan gave me was being extremely mad at our 2025 draft week 2. Ozzy and Turner were inactive, burden and colston were buried. hyppolyte was and still sucked, and our fifth round pick went MiA for some reason. My entire life meant these guys were busts. Development was a word I heard but never experienced so I just wrote them off. But now we have a psycho coach and this draft catapulted our season in the second half. Caleb is not a finished product yet and that’s not an insult, it means we are going to get an all Pro.
  22. It really can't be understated that it's Ben's Year 1 at coach and Caleb's Year 2 (first stable year). And every story makes it sound like they're football psychopaths made for one another. I think they get there. Also, I really don't want to see DJ or Kmet leave. If Poles has shown there's one thing he's genuinely good at it, it's cap management. Hopefully he can figure out how to workout some restructures that keep the offense together while giving room to rebuild the defense. Of course, the big impediments are self-inflicted (Dayo, Jarrett).
  23. I am just so so tired of the Caleb Williams lecture remix we get every game. Brady thankfully stopped and he’s been great, as is Olsen. But we still get this excited moment where they get to lecture Caleb on making the smart play. Sure, but they act like Caleb has 20 interceptions and 60 sacks again. He’s made incredible progress and lead them to a title in a brutal division with two great defenses. so tiring.
  24. He also screams utility to super-utility guy to me.
  25. Purdy is probably on the Mt Rushmore of smartest QBs in football Dude makes more out of a pretty mediocre bag of tools than just about any QB in the NFL. The top guys all have big arms, legs, or both. Purdy just sees the field in about 0.5 speed, while everyone else is running at 1.2. He makes it look easy. If Caleb gets a fraction of that football IQ, he is a half a billion dollar QB.
