I will go to my grave swearing that this was the funniest thing Richard Simmons ever did in his whole life.

It just amazes me that we got through this season with all but basically 2 AL teams being somewhere between garbage and mediocre at best. Usually even if it a slow start, some teams break out. It's pretty much Tampa, NYY, and Springfield's Tire Fire.

Letdown danger today. We really need to take this one to start the sweep. A little worried that the whole mood around the organization is a little too satisfied. I sure as hell am not -- 2 seed vs. 6 seed is the difference between a glide path to the ALCS and an unrested ringer, on the road, for an exhausted team that seems likely to look a lot like the As series in 2020.

Yeah, it's modern day vote counting. You can be strategically "against" something if the rest of its outcome is assured. I was mildly surprised to see the Unions come out very vocally for this project. That might actually make opposition harder, as it will allow someone to run against these guys in the future for being anti-union.

And why wouldn't a commissioner or alderman be against this with this reality? Once it starts being built those officials can say "we were against it but it was out of our hands". Government officials love political cover like this! They know it is going to happen regardless so they can kiss up to the locals by taking a popular position knowing it doesn't change a thing.

I found out later that Simmons didn’t like it when Dave made him wear a suit instead of his normal workout shorts and shirt for the show, but man when he walked out and looked so uncomfortable I couldn’t stop laughing

There's probably a chip on your shoulder when you're trying to play spoiler against a team in your division as opposed to the Red Sox playing the Guardians. Which hopefully bodes well for the Sox this weekend.

The problem has never been lack of talent interested in the job. This is the 3rd biggest media market in the country. Guys fight through every baseball shithole in the US to get here. It's lack of imagination up top. After Jason, they wanted to make sure they got a guy who wasn't going to be too busy, so he could only be so good, or outwardly famous.

Personally I'll like for Len to move to tv with the guarantee he gets to move to radio for the playoffs.
