  2. Tony how long are you thinking JR's lifespan is ? My positivity is not solely based on the relatively simple but effective moves Getz has made to modernize the franchise and build a power structure in the front office to enhance communication and empower those he has hired to do what they do best. It's also based on the inevitable march of time that JR has prepared for by bringing in the Ishbia's to become new owners and to be frank I have no idea if I will be alive the next time the Sox make the playoffs. Since watching my favorite teams play is my favorite form of entertainment I'd like think it can be done without affecting my objectivity but also without bumming me out too much since I also know there is only one true winner every year. Being a Bears, Bulls and Hawks fans has certainly helped in the last 40 years . I'm blessed to have seen 11 championships from my favorite teams and another one from the Cubs who do not fall into my favorites category .But it made a lot of Chicagoans happy so it balances things. I truly think that if we all can be patient enough to wait for the new regime that it may usher in a new era of ownership that the Sox have never had before in their entire history. How that translates to Championships is a lot trickery. But if one is not truly happy unless you win championships we will be skeptical a lot more than hopeful. I post about my thought process as a forward looking fan and as a skeptic in the rest of the Reinsdorf regime. I just let that forward looking part of me be King because I think its a healthier outlook on life in general to enjoy fandom rather than let it negatively affect my nature.
  3. I agree with you. The offense should be good. That being said, The White Sox Are Coming, Tra La, Tra La!!!!

  5. Every franchise but a few operate with the constraints on spending that other businesses are faced with every day, i.e., you can't spend more than you make. Unfortunately, some owners have not operated under those constraints and have created a monopoly after years of spending, advertising and promotion. Under that same model, Ishbia can choose to spend part of his personal fortune to award players with contracts worth hundreds of millions in an effort to join that "gazillionaire" owners' club. Yay. However, a better model involving some constraints on spending for every team would eventually make MLB more competitive and interesting across the country. As it stands, fans of losing teams can simply hope some gazillionaire buys their favorite team and starts spending like a drunken sailor. It looks like things are becoming a lot worse with lack of parity and fewer competitive teams. But that is the way our country has been skewing for a long time - the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.
  6. My tongue was firmly planted in my cheek .Hopefully anyone who read it recognized that by the winking emoji.
  7. The White Sox deserve zero praise. We were arguably the most embarrassing org in the major four sports over the last half decade. And Chris Getz never deserved the GM job in the first place based on qualifications. That being said, if you think for a second modernizing a professional sports org that is broken to its core is as easy as “saying no to drugs” then you have lost all touches to reality.
  8. And the masses are stupid. I'm fairly certain we're both as unhappy with the "state of the nation" as it stands today. I can't count the number of people online who "thought" the Sox would rebreak the loss record in 2025. I sure hope they didn't bet that. Voting is free, though.
  9. Who gives a s%*#? whining on a message board doesn't create any motivation to fire front office people, especially with JR.
  10. And I take them both ways. Even the most cynical don't expect the White Sox to lose 100 this season, and they're betting lines, which have their own motivations. They probably skew extreme to draw in the early bettors. Thanks.
  11. I see the offense as good with Colson leading the way and the guy from Japan to go with our two catchers. Beni is acceptable and this guy we just got in the trade hit four home runs in one game recently. Also Meidroth.
  12. As you move the goalposts just note that it might not be where you think we will be, but that is pretty much the definition of where the masses think we will be, which was the original point. The masses think we will be at 96 to 98 losses next year.
  13. Oo. Nice attack. Get cornered and go for the person. What dies any of that have to do with many fans hating their owners I didn't stick with Hahn to the end. I believe I said multiple times that he deserved to be fire because his plan didn't work. I said at the beginning he gets about 4-5 years and if it doesn't work he should be gone. But enjoy the vengeful research.
  14. I posted the sportsbook lines to actually prove your point against RayRay no one has them over 100 losses at the moment
  15. You shouldn’t be shocked. I could pull up posts in which you were still defending Rick Hahn until the bitter end, after numerous failures. Now, Getz is your savior. And here you are, still defending fucking Jerry Reinsdorf. Quite frankly, your takes are biased and awful. But good luck to you. Imagine wasting keystrokes defending the worst owner in sports, yet here you are… Hopefully, you are still on Jerry’s payroll.
  16. Yeah, that's the wisdom of crowds. Betting lines are set, though, and then move based on betting. Last year's ridiculous line of 49.5 wins for the White Sox eventually moved. I wouldn't rely on a prostitute sizing me up on the North Ave. bridge to assess my own value as a man.
  17. That makes the equilibrium at the point where the middle of all bets would be, so literally half of the people think the Sox will win that many games, or more, and the other half less. It's the literal crowdsourcing of where people think the Sox will be next year.
  18. Im shocked that this is your opinion. Go to Pittsburgh and Colorado and others they'll say the same thing about their owners. How about Oakland where the owner moved the team without having another home. You dont have the exclusive hate for the owner of your team.
  19. These lines have nothing (or little) to do with where anybody thinks the Sox will wind up, but it's a magical spot that will inspire equal betting on both sides of the line to cancel each other out. The house makes money off the vig.
  20. ??? Fanduel: 64.5 Draftkings: 65.5 BetMGM: 65.5 Bovada: 65.5 BetRivers: 65.5 Caesars: 66.5
  21. one year ago, posters like @Look at Ray Ray Run were saying the Sox could have none in the top 100 this winter. Looks like a solid system that’s about to get a whole lot stronger this summer too. And there’s finally some young talent at the MLB level again as well. Could be the makings of a solid young core ready to compete once Ishbia $ infusions commence in a few years.
  22. Not unless the offense gets a whole lot better to pick up a pretty weak starting staff.
