Thanks, Wegner. And of course, I could be full of it. But gotta try to keep those positive vibes goin' !!- White Sox @ Guardians, 6:10 PM, Kay vs Williams
With the recent arm issues with MacDougal I'm guessing they are going to be very, VERY careful with him and I don't blame them. Forearm soreness in a lot of cases directly leads to TJS and that's the last thing this organization needs.- I mean, I never heard anybody say, 'I'm going to Cleveland on vacation"
I'm guessing the station was WWWE radio. Saw this a few days ago, didn't believe it so I looked it up and it is true. Cleveland has made the playoffs seven of the last 10 years. Like Tampa and Milwaukee they have an organizational system and it works for them. Seems to be predicated on pitching, fundamental play and good defense. I'm envious. The only 'story' I can remember about that place was this item: June 2, 1995 - With the Sox having blown four straight games to the Indians, and off to an 11-20 start, manager Gene Lamont was fired and replaced by abrasive, taciturn third base coach Terry Bevington. Bevington would turn out to be a disaster on the field and in the clubhouse and the long-term effects of the way Lamont was dismissed would cause his mentor and former Sox coach Jim Leyland to turn down overtures by owner Jerry Reinsdorf to take over after Bevington was removed before the start of the 1998 season. He’d be replaced by first time manager Jerry Manuel.- White Sox @ Guardians, 6:10 PM, Kay vs Williams
If not MacDougal, then Schweitzer and Sandlin ( It's stunning to see Sandlin throwing darts in Charlotte instead of Chicago). That would be an upgrade. Working young pitchers in the major league bullpen before putting them in the rotation is a pretty standard method of pitching development, so I hope they just bring up MacDougal when ready. It's hard to develop a deep staff and bullpen. Actually did a pretty good job this year.- 7/4 GT - White Sox @ Guardians (6:10pm CST)
I love your thinking, Bill, and hope you're right.- 7/4 GT - White Sox @ Guardians (6:10pm CST)
Agreed. Maybe the ball will bounce their way tonight.- Sox now have a Big Three. Mura, Vargas and Colson.
Did not know this. Very interesting that a young player would turn down some stability.- White Sox @ Guardians, 6:10 PM, Kay vs Williams
Having Luis Robert flashbacks.- White Sox @ Guardians, 6:10 PM, Kay vs Williams
That's a valid point which makes the situation the Sox find themselves in even more difficult. As usual they find themselves between a rock and a hard place. But that doesn't mean he shouldn't be trying to get help as soon as possible again assuming JR allows him to do so.- 2026 MLB Draft Countdown
JACOB GONZALEZ DAYS LEFT UNTIL DRAFT DAY BOYS AND GIRLS! ONE MORE WEEK AND THE WAIT IS OVER!!!! Now, let’s win some fucking ball games in Cleveland dagnabit!!!- White Sox @ Guardians, 6:10 PM, Kay vs Williams
It might have been a terrible idea, but it was my idea, based on the information I had (watching him run on videos, Venable remarking that he was running at 85% a while back, running corners, realizing that he was hitting in the cage and on the Trajekt (sp) for a few weeks. Consider the huge impact Murakami could have had before the All Star break, including the 4 games series at CLE. Yes, they considered the risk of re-injury. Understood, but the risk of injury playing at 1st base in Charlotte might be more than the risk of DHing in the majors. He could hit a blast and walk around the bases, or get to first and send Acuna in to run. So, I respect the decision to extend the rehab to reduce risk of re-injury, but at the same time, there have already been some possible consequences - two walk-off losses (so far) knocking the Sox out of 1st place....games that Mune might have impacted. Now, if he can't swing the bat properly, that would be a different story.- Sox now have a Big Three. Mura, Vargas and Colson.

Wegner, as a guitar player/singer, it reminds me of preparing a setlist for a gig, where you try to come up with a lineup of songs that has just the right balance of tempos, moods, etc., and you keep a few tunes in reserve that you can turn to if the situation seems right at some point. (Of course, as a 73-year old, my gigs are almost exclusively at retirement homes, so I'm probably over-thinking my setlists, but what the heck, I enjoy the process.) Somehow today's Sox lineup strikes me as having that really nice balance between power and finesse, with some solid guys in reserve if the situation eventually dictates.- 2026 MLB Draft Thread...White Sox Control Draft/V.Lackey closing fast
The reason I assume is because if they have the same upside, then they wouldn't be "neck and neck" as to who should go #1: Roch would be far ahead. No way could you justify significantly higher risk for the same reward. And you mentioned in one of your posts that Emerson is not much on defense. So that would mean he has to have even more potential with the bat to compensate for his given deficits on D.- 7/4 GT - White Sox @ Guardians (6:10pm CST)
