  1. Past hour
  2. I agree on Sosa, but don’t agree on Benintendi. He can’t field at all and has bat is basically league average at this point. I guess he could fit as a role player, but I’d rather go find a LF upgrade and cut ties altogether. Again, I just don’t see a great role for him if we are planning to use Quero as our primary DH.
  3. Agree here. That bench sounds like a recipe for disaster. This year seems like a last call audition for each player listed.
  4. If 2026 kind of mirrors 2019, I think that would be a realistic positive step.
  5. technically it's "moo-nay" (said quickly) you will also sometimes hear it pronounced "mew-nay"
  6. Depends on your definition of competitive I think. Could they not lose 100 games this year? Maybe, it all depends on pitching and if they can keep guys healthy. The starting rotation is still basically unproven and the bullpen is still a mess. And let's not forget the injury situation which has gutted them since around 2018 when four players making their MLB debut couldn't even make it through their first game without getting seriously hurt. They have the benefit of playing in a mediocre division though. If they only lose 90 games this year that would be a "success".
  7. Was just about to post this. This kid just wants to fucking hit bombs and win ballgames. And the fact he’s already making adjustments for the MLB is fucking impressive. I haven’t been this excited about a White Sox player in years.
  8. it could also be bad pitch ID, his in zone contact rates are below avg
  9. Yeah, those are guys who are still very young and have a good shot to be quality players though. I don't mind that. Guys like Benintendi and Blake Rutherford were poor choices due to not being very good.
  10. Don’t see the need to trade Sosa or Benintendi. Mead, Lee, Hill, Pereira has the makings of worst bench offense in the league. Having flexibility of Sosa getting to play 5 days a week and playing matchups, getting guys days off, backfilling for injuries would be hugely important for this team.
  11. t's a gamble since he seems to have holes in his swing, from a defensive standpoint and an injury history but really what is there to lose at this stage until Ishbia takes over? Fegan at Sox Machine with a detailed look: https://soxmachine.com/2025/12/the-white-sox-and-munetaka-murakami-have-nothing-to-lose
  12. 2 things 1. Did I hear him say while he was signing "I'm so happy"? 2. I think he is going to help make vests make a comeback...he looks very sharp imo.
  13. I think they still do that somewhat, evidenced by Kyle Teel and Braden Montgomery, but I don't think we're going to have a "Getz always gets his man" meme. Acquiring former 1st rounders like Jared Shuster and Ryan Rolison seems more inadvertent than the focus.
  14. I'll be honest, there was a part of me that was a little worried he was going to pull a Zava and say "I will not be signing with the White Sox today."
  15. that's a handsome fit. JR probably loved that, he may have even offered to sign a Cigar magazine for him.
  16. The smirk on Getz’s face when he signed, I am hoping he slid a team option in there.
