  1. Past hour

  2. Right on. Putting the ball in play is more productive than a K, as anything can happen. Ks are rally killers with RISP.
  3. The problem at the end was that we were swinging for the fences, and not connecting for any homers. If we were hitting some homers along with the strike outs, would have been more palatable.
  4. You left out Colson.
  5. Today

  6. Didn’t help in the playoffs against better pitching. No adjustments made by our hitters or coaches. 40 strike outs in 2 games in the playoffs is a fireable offense. We can’t fire the whole team so Shomon will need to take the hit. IMO.
  7. Guardians hitting homers lately, while the Sox long ball disappeared in the playoffs. Rays didn’t not get the memo of not letting Adell and Ramirez beat them on Game 1. Adell trade deadline acquisition has helped the Guardians, where was Getz? Getting fleeced by the Mariners?
  8. Historical results speak for themselves.
  9. From the Sun-Times story tonight: "Being humiliated by the rival Packers is a red flag that his predecessors haven’t had to confront in years. Matt Eberflus never lost by as many as 24 points at Lambeau Field. Neither did Matt Nagy or John Fox. The last time the Bears were so outclassed in Green Bay was a 55-14 loss in 2014 that set Marc Trestman down the road to unemployment. No one is suggesting Johnson is on that path. He won the NFC North last year and deserves credit for leading the Bears to consecutive victories with two different backups under center. The worst part is who it was against — and how that affects the Bears’ postseason chances. The Bears went 2-4 in the North last season and still somehow found a way to win it. That won’t happen again. The Bears are 3-2, yet last in the NFC North, the result of losing both their divisional games this season. The Vikings, who many thought were the worst team in the North, are 5-0 this season. The Packers are Lions are each 3-2. The former knew what was at stake, beyond just rivalry bragging rights, on Sunday. The easiest path to the playoffs is to beat up on your division. Since Johnson took over, though, the Vikings lead the NFC North with a 6-2 record. The Packers are 5-3 and the Lions 2-4. The Bears are 2-6. Johnson has won 25% of his regular-season divisional games, the same as Trestman. He could win his next five NFC North contests and still have a worse divisional winning percentage than Nagy did the day he was fired." Chicago Sun-TimesBen Johnson's loss was disconcerting for reasons that go...Sunday’s blowout at the hands of his rival came with the Bears favored to win at Lambeau Field for the first time in 20 years. Expectations were different. The disappointment was greater.
  10. Far to often in my opinion the Sox game plan was to "hope" things would happen for the better. History shows more often than not, "hope" is not a recipe for success.
  11. And don't forget Brazoban! 😁
  12. Yeah, but are they going to have studs like Castillo and Doyle around for additional years?
  13. Man that Buffalo/Rams game was an all-time classic. Hard to believe that was the first time Allen ever won an overtime game.
  14. So much will depend on how much of a roll Ishbia has. When all is said and done, winning orgs build a roster with a contingency plan if things go wrong. Loser orgs create a roster based on wishful thinking and best case scenarios.
  15. Good luck with that idea. Let's just say the track record not just in his disastrous time with the Sox but even before that isn't very good. If he is going to get hammered basically every time out, force a bigger load on the bullpen and make it almost impossible to win the game, the innings pitched factor doesn't matter.
  16. Cleveland does what Cleveland does. Been doing it for a decade.
  17. One notation today: October 13, 1970 - New player personnel director Roland Hemond made his first deal in that capacity for the club. Hemond sent John “Pineapple” Matias and Gail Hopkins to the Royals for Don O’Riley and Pat Kelly. Kelly, who was the brother of Browns running back Leroy Kelly, provided speed for the “New Look” White Sox. A solid hitter and leadoff man, Pat would make the All-Star Team in 1973 when he hit .280 with 22 steals. He played for the Sox from 1971 through 1976 and stole 119 bases.
  18. I hope Getz takes notes on how to improve a club without giving up big time prospects. That was a masterclass of a deadline by Cleveland: Griffin - 6.2ip, 10ks, 3er Adell - 8 RBIs, .988 OPS Lowe - .400 OBP, .700 OPS
  19. The only movie I’ve seen that is close to as fucked up as the “Terrifier” series is the new Eli Roth horror movie “Ice Cream Man”.
  20. I don't think we are in the position to allow Newcomb to stretch his arm when we have Taylor and Hagen doing the same. Newcomb hasn't been a starter since 2018.
  21. I think Newcombe is an interesting scenario. He wants to start, and did pretty well when given the chance to be an opener. I think if you can sign him as a starter at a quasi-reliever salary, it makes a lot of sense.
  22. I remember reading a few weeks ago that Getz/White Sox were interested in signing some elite Japanese starting pitcher this off season.
  23. Yup, Sox played the Rays tough all year too. 😢
  24. Fellow Dominican Pedro Martinez told Jose Ramirez post game that all Latinos love JRam and pulling for him, f*** that, as a Latino, f*** that dude. I hate his guts...though I admit he singlehandedly kicked our asses GM 3 through 5 😞
  25. JRam must be mentally retarded, how many years in MLB and STILL needs a translator??? And he beat us, let that sink in. Embarrassing
  26. Way to choke Sox, now we letting these fucking scrubs continue with their s%*# horseshoe up there ass run. It took a historically bad strikeout rate and gifting them tons of runners from our trash pitchers for these assholes to advance. God I hate these Cleveland f**gots
