  2. Exactly. Mine is a lifer until proven otherwise. Him and Psycho Sam are at the top of my favorite Sox list.
  3. Exactly. My guess is that Will told him to sit and Psycho Sam was disappointed. Our guy wants to play every day even after taking one or two for the team. Love that kid.
  4. Guess they’re valuing defense more with an eye to PH Grich if necessary.., I don’t hate it.
  5. Give me a 5 - 2 road trip or better baby!!!

Nope. Psycho Sam it is. Even the bleeping hitting coach agrees! Still waiting for @Bill The Boy to give his stamp of approval or POV. 😆
  7. Luis Aparicio days left until our Chicago White Sox are on the clock for pick 1.1!!!!
  8. I've been struggling with this one. The Sinatra nod is definitely appealing, but it's a lot of syllables, plus Reinsdorf's title is a problem. I had a new idea you might like, though... The Big Tuna (Tuna = Tonno in Italian...sounds like an-TONNA-cci)
  9. Today
  10. Prolly just banged up as @soxrwhite said. Gotta protect him from himself a bit. edit: apparently he went into the tunnel after the slide. Hopefully just a rest day.
  11. He got hit by pitch pretty good last night. I wonder if he's hurt?
  12. Is there something wrong with Sam? Very odd lineup vs RHP. Rest Sam vs LHP. However, he did come out late last night as well.
  13. Grichuk OPS's .570 against RHPs this year, whereas Perez' splits are a little more neutral. And Perez is a much better fielder.
  14. We have an entire minor league team at AAA full of guys who exist only to replace an injured player. Right now, Quero is a backup whose production is about 62% worse than league average. So what is it you think you're going to get for him? Romo was a former first rounder and was free. Joey Bart was an overall #2 pick and was free a couple of years ago. Quero isn't plug and play. He's stow and fix. Nobody has time for that in the next two months if they're angling for the playoffs, and 3-4 guys like him will be bouncing around the waiver wire over the winter and end of spring training. Last year, the Rays and Dodgers swapped backup catchers. The Rays sent a couple arms over to the Dodgers in the deal, one might be interesting.

  17. Kelenic was waived. He hit 125 with 5 K in 10 PA for Texas. Might be time to learn Japanese. I have regrets in life but he was offered a 60 million dollar extension that he turned down before he fizzled. That has to eat him inside, man.
  18. Sam should be a 162er Would rather have Grichuk in the lineup over Perez
  19. Interesting lineup. They seem to like Perez quite a bit as a waiver find. He's been OK I guess, nice to get Sam off his feet for a game.
  20. Now that the team is competitive and cutting/DFAing guys is beginning to hurt, it got me thinking. Several relievers that people like in the minors aren't on the 40 man roster. To get someone on, someone has to go. One way to get extra 40 man spots is via the 60 day dl as those on the 60 day don't count towards the 40. They do have to be added back at the end of the year as you go through the offseason. Prospects meeting years in the minors parameters also must be added or are exposed to the rule 5 draft. The WS currently have 8 players on the 60 day dl with only Hayes becoming a free agent. The impending roster crunch that could cause at year end or as they return from rehab may make things a lot more interesting at the trade deadline. Some prospects may get moved just because of the now much tighter 40 man.
  21. Off day for Sam. Not sure I love Teel leading off, but I guess an extra AB or two ahead of a probable day off tomorrow could be good for him.
  22. I mean, you could say that about a lot of players. Injuries happen, but i certainly don't hold a player that may have value just to hold him for "maybe someone gets injured sometime". Also.. If the injury is so bad and long that Lee or Romo can't handle it for a month or so, then go sign or trade for some vet.. Keep in mind, Teel missed a lot of time already and we survived fine already with 2 bad catchers (Romo and Quero).
  23. We're one injury to teel to being down to lee and romo as the catchers. that's a downside risk we don't need. as bad as quero is, imagine lee hitting 150/180/250 over 30 games with Romo the starter.
  24. He's a backup here. He will have more value to us elsewhere. Even if he recovers, he only starts 60-70 games a year. (No Teel and Quero can't alternate at DH)
  25. I'd keep Quero. You never know with a young talented catcher how long it might take for the light to go on, especially after a big swing change and body transformation in his early 20s. We gave up on Flowers too early, hate to see the same with Quero and he goes on to put up 12 WAR somewhere else.
