  2. Burke is the only starter with better splits on the road, need him to keep that up and be a big stopper today. Sox are the only team in MLB to not lose 4 in a row, let's keep that goin. Happy 4th everyone! It's a bad day to be a beer.
  3. God bless America and the White Sox.
  4. Massive game tonight. A win puts us back in a tie for 1st…a loss puts us two games out. Is Burke up for the task and can he give us at least six strong? That will likely decide our fate tonight. Let’s fucking go and happy 4th to all of y’all!

  6. The latter point is totally fair. But I don’t think Getz deserves to be ridiculed for the pitching staff not being good. This team is a year ahead of schedule for many reasons that most here didn’t see coming. He also had a plan in place which relied on his young pitchers making a lot of starts. The problem is that plan has gone haywire due to injuries and Shane Smith shitting the bed. And now with a strong positional group in place, it puts what was planned to be a development pitching wise at conflict with an ability to compete in a weak AL. Getz needs to find a way to balance two competing priories: 1) continue to develop your young core that should be able to compete for years to come, 2) take advantage of a weak American League with a team ahead of schedule. That won’t be easy, but should be doable. He also has to take an honest look at what he has in-house to shore up the pitching in the interim. Who will be ready and what roles are willing to use them in. Tanner McDougal could really help shore up the bullpen, but do we want to risk his long term development as a SP in doing so? Those are the trade-offs Getz to needs to consider and act on fast.
  7. highest road bullpen era in baseball easily according to the cle crew. just costing us time and time again. we should be 10 over 500 with this offense. these aren't usually 1 run leads they are blowing. we are talking a run an inning type s%*# on the road. era is like 8 or something after the 6th.
  8. @Look at Ray Ray Run - What’s so funny about this post? Would be awesome if you actually shared your thoughts & provided some counterpoints instead of doing a cowardly drive-by laugh emoji.
  9. Read this morning where Cleveland had only a single walk-off win all year before doing it the past two nights.

  11. Weren't happy with the grounds crew or the umpires: https://chicago.suntimes.com/white-sox/2026/07/04/white-sox-accuse-guardians-grounds-crew-walk-off-loss-anthony-kay-will-venable-seranthony-dominguez
  12. Well there does come a point where if you are seriously trying to contend you simply can't keep losing games because of him.
  13. As has been pointed out all the TJS pitchers weren't expected to be back until the second half of the season, Getz knew that ahead of time. As others have also pointed out you can never have enough pitching. The Sox are woefully short in it. But OK, here's the bottom line, if they want to stay in this Getz has to get help sooner rather than later. If he doesn't or can't that's on him (and JR) so we'll see how it plays out.
  14. If he wasn’t ready, he wasn’t ready. Rushing Mune back is a terrible idea.
  15. I just saw that. I forgot about that big offer. Blame it on the agent for not accepting it?
  16. This is your opinion but it is in no way factual. The lack of goals actually increases the tension of the game. When your team is only up a goal, every opposition attack becomes worrisome. When your team is chasing a goal the desire to score becomes fanatical. There are all types of different ways to attack in the sport and understanding those philosophies and tactics really changes the way you see it. Anyway, 33million people watched last night. The Prem gets about 500k-1.5m viewers every weekend at 9am. For reference, Sunday Night Baseball on ESPN averaged around 2m. The game is popular and not just with grade schoolers.
  17. Please explain why Contreras is less guilty than Cavalli.
  18. Why the s%*# is this thread in Pale Hose Talk?
  19. Lol…this team is a playoff team because of what Getz has done. The positional group is legit awesome. The pitching staff isn’t good, but has been materially impacted by injuries. Our 2025 All Star & 2026 OD SP struggled out of nowhere and then got hurt. The Sox had three top 100 SP prospects in AAA who they figured would be part of the rotation mix at some point. They took on Hicks’ contract to get Sandlin, who they also felt would be part of the major rotation mix at some point. Former top 100 prospect Drew Thorpe and former top 10 prospects Ky Bush & Mason Adams were supposed to be pushing for spots by the second half. Fedde and to some extent were brought in as placeholders to eat innings until the young guys developed. Becuase of injuries to many of the aforementioned guys, we’ve had to rely on these two more than planned. Context does matter and it’s really annoying when fans who thought this team was a lock to lose 90+ games are like “why didn’t Getz build a better pitching staff” and ignore all the factors that got us to this point.
  20. That was clearly the plan with him, Newcomb, Hicks and Kay...just as they did with Fedde.
  21. It was actually 1994. One major advantage is that anyone can play, regardless of height...in fact, some of the biggest superstars like Messi and Pele have been in the 5`9" to 5'11" range. You can't say the same about basketball, for instance. And basketball has so much scoring now that a lot of fans don't even bother to tune in until the fourth quarter. It's also much less dangerous than football, where there's only 3-4 minutes of real action per game (leading to seemingly hundreds of commercials if one includes halftime as well as pre and postgame), and it certainly requires much less expensive equipment to participate. 1. SoccerSoccer remains the most popular youth sport in America, and for good reason. It's accessible, inclusive, and works for kids of all ages and skill levels. Boys and girls play together when they're young, and leagues exist in nearly every community. Why kids love it: Constant action, minimal equipment, and you get to run around a lot. What parents should know: Soccer is relatively affordable compared to other sports, and most communities have both rec and club options. It's a great first sport for young kids because the rules are simple and everyone gets to touch the ball
  22. Wouldn't be shocked if one of the next two games does get rained out. Supposed to be horrible storms over the weekend in Cleveland
  23. We heard all this same stuff in 1992 when the US hosted it and then still nobody cared until 30+ years later. It's a nice story for a couple months. There is nothing more boring than a soccer game in my opinion. The average soccer game scores like 3 goals in 90+ minutes. Imagine if basketball had no shot clock today and every team ran a 4 corners offense and took a shot every 10 minutes. That's soccer. It's popular amongst young kids because any uncoordinated kid who can run can be on the team and not look completely terrible, he can blend in. And then they get a participation trophy.
  24. But they knew this when they signed him. It made no sense to me at the time to sign this guy and make him your closer. I just figured this team was not going to be any good and they just didn't care and thought maybe they can turn him around and flip him.
  25. Hopefully on 7/4/26 we can add: Sox beat Cleveland to move back into a tie for first in the division and stop a long losing streak at The Jake.
