  2. I still can see Curt Schilling going off on Reinsdorf in an interview, it got real nasty.
  3. Brother already has gone on record. No need for Justin to add anything further.

  5. I only hope Justin Ishbia doesn't take a public stand one way or the other, it is a lose lose situation if he gets quoted.
  6. LOL , I think I will stop while I am behind.
  7. "The Padres announced that Miguel Andujar and right-handers Lucas Giolito and Griffin Canning are all now free agents. San Diego declined its end of mutual options with Giolito and Canning, while Andujar declined his end of a mutual option. Andujar will receive a $2.9MM buyout from his declined $8MM mutual option, Giolito’s $8MM mutual option came with a $1.5MM buyout, and Canning’s $5MM mutual option has a $1.8MM buyout." mlbtraderumors.com
  8. JR leaped at the opportunity to be the lead man.
  9. The MLB Postseason was among the most-watched in recent years, but a shorter and lesser-watched World Series knocked viewership further off of last year’s pace. The 2026 MLB Postseason averaged 5.49 million viewers across Fox Sports, TNT Sports and NBCUniversal, down 13% from last year (6.33M), but otherwise officially the most-watched postseason since 2019. Viewership had been down single-digits entering the World Series, but with this year’s Fall Classic featuring fewer games and fewer viewers than a year ago, the average fell further off of last year’s pace. Last year’s playoffs culminated with a Game 7 of the World Series that officially ranks as the most-watched Major League Baseball game since 2017, the last of a record seven winner-take-all games. This year’s playoffs ended with a “Gentleman’s sweep” and included only two winner-take-all games. sportsmediawatch.com
  10. Legendary career that I never watched. My memory of him is going to prison for tax evasion, citing "research" that only federal government employees were required to pay taxes. Rest in peace!
  11. Hawthorne studies and Pavlov references gave you away.

  13. If I could take duped out of my post I would. Let me put it this way, JR was a useful idiot for the owners for putting his face and name out there as the bad guy. JR was the bad guy but all the other owners got a pass and JR to this day wears it. I am not defending him at all, just pointing out the PR move was a disaster.
  14. Had the chance to speak with him a lot, last time was about two months ago. Great guy, played a big part in the Sox success in the early 1980's. And as Dick Allen mentioned the Sox trading him for Ron Reed really disrupted the chemistry of that 1984 team. Even JR admitted that was a mistake.

Stay the f*** away from our guys Asshoes.
  16. I haven't followed the upcoming Lockout until the last few days. The more I'm reading about it the more I'm convinced their might not be a 2027 baseball season. The owners want a salary cap, the players don't. I don't see how this can be worked out. Bryce Harper has already said he doesn'r expect baseball to be played in 2027. Another baseball expert has said on Youtube that is the lockout isn't settled by June 15, 2027 there won't be baseball season in 2027.
  17. It didn’t even look overly violent to the point you would think he really hurt himself

  20. I hope Campbell is ok
  21. Lions have suffered some serious injuries in this game. Brian Branch, DJ Wonnum and now the biggest one.. Jack Campbell (and that one he was not moving his legs at all). Prayers to them
  22. Those charges certainly aren’t added on in Chicago, or I’m guessing Illinois in general. And in Chicago, the arrest will generally denote their birthplace, not whether legal or otherwise.
  23. A ly of insiders thought losing him after the 83 season was a huge reason for a dead 84 even though he was technically replaced with Tom Seaver. RIP.
  24. Good career and a veteran leader of the 1983 team. RIP
  25. He took a 1970s/80s-era generic baseball stadium design that was intended for suburban Addison and just had it plopped down at 35th & Shields and then made sure there were 3 luxury levels between the lower and upper deck. Looking bad, it's astounding how badly they messed up New Comiskey v1.0. At least they did an admirable job in renovating the place over 20 years ago. But some of the design flaws are baked in and can't be fixed by some more renovations.
  26. He was definitely closest to Selig at that time... https://www.chicagotribune.com/1995/08/20/reinsdorf-to-blame/ "OK. Since last Aug. 12, the Sox have traded away Jack McDowell’s $5 million salary; failed to re-sign Julio Franco and Darrin Jackson, both of whom had hefty salaries in 1994; declined to pursue any legitimate and therefore costly talent on the free-agent market (compare Cleveland’s rather different approach to the ’95 season); traded away Jim Abbott’s $3 million salary; and tried desperately to trade away Robin Ventura’s $5 million salary." Interesting thing is that he was also quoted in August 1994 as coming off push for a resolution without a cap.
