  1. Past hour

  2. The future is here, let's see how the boys handle it.
  3. As a fan you have every right to rant, it was a bonehead move. I hope the players to a man don't use this as an excuse or try and point blame and rally around their manager.
  4. You're kidding, I hope. What, a public flogging? Put him on trial? Read him his rights publicly.
  5. He only didnt catch last year. He was catching the two years prior.
  6. Also displaying Roid Rage.
  7. Venable has to wear it on the mound visit and move on. Sox need to win the series and send Cleveland a message.
  8. Today

  9. Maybe him and Vargas have the same pharmaceutical rep.

  12. The only sorta underlying metrics that are out of wack from the rest of his career are groundball/flyball ratio and pull%. He’s not hitting the ball harder or striking out less; bat speed, barrel%, etc are pretty much the same. Do steroids make pull the ball in the air better but affect nothing else? Seems like he learned something helpful. Considering the rest of the Red Sox offensive success, maybe they have a pretty good hitting coach. Why are there two conspiracy threads about the Red Sox on this board? Rent free.
  13. Doesn’t help that Venable shows no energy and looks like a zombie in the dugout.
  14. Then Will should start Antonacci against this lefty.
  15. We need the big 3 to start hitting homers more frequently again.
  16. Just looked at remaining Guardians schedule. To say it’s easy is an understatement.
  17. Youth has the advantage of having a longer view. For my own reasons, I hoped they'd make a run this season. Oh well.
  18. Amazing what 5 days in baseball does. Riding high after taking 2 of 3 against Tampa then we have a poor trade deadline then lose 4 in a row. Somehow still up 2 games in the division but that will be gone quick if we don't stop this skid by this weekend
  19. Well, I think it’s kind of wild to compare what Will did to a drunk driver not killing anyone. But, to your point I guess, it was a brain fart, at the beginning of a game, that was about to get out of hand, that ended up not getting out of hand (in that moment) probably because of that brain fart. Situationally, not a big deal. Had it been in a much more important situation, like a tie ballgame in the 8th or something, then I might agree with you a bit more. But it wasn’t, so I’m inclined to think it really wasn’t a big deal as you think it was.
  20. I think he's a guy who will be at risk of a DFA. He was so bad defensively and the offense had some problems as well, although I acknowledge the surprising pop from the left side. Like Everson, Brooks is a little harder to be patient with if you think the team is going to be good. There's some other crap on the 40-man that the Sox could clear first, of course. But we may have some new crap we want on there too.
  21. Needed fresh arms. I wonder who gets the DFA. And with Thorpe set to come off the 60-day soon, I don't have any clue how the Sox feel about him. Will he get a shot at innings in MLB, will he get optioned and lie in wait for a while, will he be DFA'd?
  22. If a dude drives home drunk but doesn’t hit anymore, did he not make a mistake? No big deal, right? Victim or not, you still made a grave mistake that was a totally uncalled for and was just sheer incompetence from a manager in the dog days of August trying to get this team going again after a very lackluster series in Boston. Taking your starter out, by mistake because you weren’t paying attention is inexcusable
