Between Alderman Lee, various mayoral candidates, and the ISFA pushing for the Sox to stay in Bridgeport and Ishbia, Amtrak, and now the CFL pushing for the Sox to relocate to South Loop, I think it’s safe to say that, at this point, 35th and Shields will see major changes (regardless of where the next stadium is located) in the near future. I wonder if there’s been talk of developing that area post-Rate Field.

It is as clear as light the proposed relocation the massive RR yard was promulgated for a private business purpose, not for a RR purpose. The proposal is arrogant and shockingly untimely as residents have to choose between attending that meeting or a game a few blocks away - a game for first place during a pennant race. And then there is the irony of "South side" jerseys at that game knowing that Ishbia plans to move the team from the South side. Minimally it shows Ishbia is oblivious to the South side identity that White Sox fans have, and that was long before Ishbia was a Tiger fan in Michigan or had a deal to purchase the Minnesota Twins, his soccer franchise or part ownership in an NBA team. Sox fans that enjoy tailgating will not be happy during the upheaval for the next year or two, and maybe forever. This is going to be a deal breaker for some. Ishbia attending one meeting with his high priced attorneys and surrogates after he has already decided what he will do, is folly. Opposing this will be like opposing a ballroom or the big arch in our nation's capitol. This country is increasingly being run by big banks and billionaires. Stand down South side. Ishbia will have his hand in Sox fan's wallets for everything in and around the Railyard, and of course, that was and is his motive for pushing this absurd plan. BMont needs to be on the bench the rest of the way and only used for late innings defense. We have no idea when Kolson will be back with his wrist contusion. That leaves Mune with it looking like a miracle is needed to get him back on track. We can still win without those 3 as we were competitive in the Guards series basically without any help from them and should have won 2 of the games. What we need is the starting pitching to step up with quality outings.

This is not a team thing anymore. I am convinced that if Mune, C Montgomery, and B Montgomery keep with the slumps they are in this team will not make the playoffs. IF 2 of the 3 (especially CS and MUNE) can start hitting like they did 1st half this team will win the division and could be dangerous in the playoffs. 10 games to see what happens ................

Baseball Reference right now is giving the Sox a 55.4% chance to win the division while the Guards a 44.6% chance, comes down to the Sox having an easier schedule with 7 home games with 3 against the Rockies in the last series of the year while the Guards only have 3 home games and have that series in Boston.

I wouldn't discount #1. This is the most meaningful professional baseball he's played (outside of the WBC, where he also has struggled). His teams in Japan were not good.

Guys go in slumps but Mune and Colson have to be suffering from bad mechanics, I’m not a hitting coach but the one we have for some reason can’t fix them. Hitting should be simple, see the ball, hit the ball but I’m wondering with all the information available to the modern day player is a bit much and the trend of swinging as hard as one can along with launch angles ruins some players, just look at the batting averages, there’s only 7 guys in MLB that are batting .300. Junior Caminero of the Rays leads the AL in homers with 41 and has one of the flattest swings in baseball but he does swing hard and manages to knock the ball over fences. I’m pretty sure it’s a lot harder to hit a baseball coming at you at 96 MPH with an uppercut swing versus a flat swing. This isn’t 16 inch slow pitch softball like we played in our youth when we had a huge ball and the time to meet the ball with an uppercut swing.
