  1. Past hour
  2. There were also plenty of people that (wrongfully) thought Ohtani was going to be bad since he didn't focus on hitting or pitching. It was unrealistic to expect him to play like an inner circle Hall of Famer, but there were doubters aplenty.
  3. Merry Christmas everyone! Actually looking forward to watching the Sox next year, great Christmas gift.
  4. Today
  5. Much better Sox X-Mas this year, Merry Christmas to all.
  6. White Sox now have the smallest “largest contract ever” of the 30 franchises I believe.
  7. We all have more weight to pull, now that Caulfield's going to be wearing out that Padres' board.
  8. Great! That and five bucks will get you a cup of coffee at a Starbucks. Who cares? They'll still be the Chicago Bears.
  9. Economic studies might show stadiums are a myth in regards to economic growth but there are enough states and cities willing to build those new stadiums to attract teams. I think the Bears moving to Indiana would be a great PR move for Indiana.
  10. As has consistently been shown in economic studies it is basically a myth that over the long haul building new stadiums with tax payer money for very wealthy families winds up producing substancial economic growth. The biggest hang up is all the money still owed on the Soldier Field renovation. Like Pritzker said that needs to be figured out first. The ball is in your court McCaskey's. Write the state a check, pay that off and I'm guessing the politicians would be more willing to talk with you.
  11. Except the FutureSox podcasts with Dylan Barnas and Elijah Evans. Those guys speak way too fast as it is.
  12. Yeah, the KCMO voters won that deal. Sales tax goes to pay for a $3 billion stadium ($1b from Chiefs), $300 million facility and $1 billion entertainment district. Chiefs pay $7m rent. They'll pay it off in ~470ish years.
  13. That’s the only way I listen to podcasts. Too much dead air otherwise.
  14. If the Bears do wind up in NW Indiana then the Cardinals should move back to Chicago and either play in Soldier Field or Arlington Heights, the Cardinals were Chicago’s first pro football team.
  15. The people in Kansas are doing handstands over the Chiefs moving there. They seem to think the tax revenue (sales tax) and other money makes the deal wortwhile.
  16. I wish all Sox fans good health so they can live to see Ishbia take over and clean out everything from the previous ownership group.
  17. Just my opinion but I can easily see why politicians have told the Bears to basically screw themselves. The outstanding debt that is still owed on the first renovation of Soldier Field is a big issue and they have said so, along with having to try to subsidize a very wealthy McCaskey family isn't sitting well with voters given the economic situation around the nation amidst all the political chaos. Remember politicians are more about getting reelected than helping the Bears. Personally like with the Giants and Jets, to me it's simply not that big of a deal if they play outside of Chicago, they are still the Chicago Bears. It's just a name we're talking about after all.
  18. Also listening to podcasts at 1.3+ speed is not for the faint of heart.
  19. Well, Gary/Hammond could get, what, 10-11 surges in dining and hotel stays, and then have to service the stadium for the whole year? I suppose it becomes an entertainment district if they do concerts, college football, etc. And Chicago still keeps the "civic pride" of "having" an NFL team.
