  1. Past hour

  2. You really are a damn fool who wants to make things personal. F off.
  3. How is it possible to have every take you make on this forum be the wrong one? It's uncanny. His route to that ball was atrocious. He read it completely wrong. He started coming in on it and then had to turn and run back... He misplayed it badly. He also never should have been out there. The pinch hitting of Montgomery for Doyle was absolutely idiotic. Montgomery has been terrible at the plate, Doyle has had a good game, and you have a lead. You're subbing out your best defensive outfielder.... They should have subbed Montgomery for Antonacci in the 9th, put Doyle in Center, Peters in LF, and Montgomery in RF. But our manager is a moron. Everyone questioned Montgomery coming up to PH for Doyle as soon as it happened, and what do you know?
  4. Bulshit. Only a speed demon makes that play when they are positioned that shallow and leaning toward Center. He was positioned in the wrong place but was he to blame for that? The defensive positioning is dictated in large measure by how a batter is being pitched. The Manager and bench Manager are responsible for that. Taylor pitched Rochhio a high down the middle fastball where he could stick the head of his bat out and hit it oppo.... like a lot of LH hitters do on a pitch in that location. The field positioning dictated pitching Rochhio inside.
  5. 6% hit probability on that last flyball, an avg LF makes that play.
  6. really would have been 3 1/2 with tiebreaker now 1 1/2 lose next two and technically tied with nine left to go
  7. You hire a minimum wage manager with no skills or experience, this is what you get. Too cute by half using a useless opener today cost us 3 runs. Then "the book" says go with all righty/lefty matchups in the early or middle innings. Let's not have the gold glove outfielder in the game so you can move Peters to left in the 9th. Utter managerial malpractice. We should have been up 6-2 in the 9th and win going away. When we lose tomorrow (and believe me, we will), we leave town with ZERO margin for error, instead of up 3 games. I'm done!
  8. Today

  9. Wait so Venable knows Mune sucks so bad right now that he thought Cleveland would intentionally walk Vargas to get to him since he’s an automatic out. Got it 🤡
  10. Brazoban down there as well gave up a run in 4-2 loss
  11. Thorpe 4.1 3 2 2 4 3 0 2.79
  12. Walk him to face Doyle or Braden??? okay that's some strange logic there
  13. Phantom dl for forearm strain/overusage by nym/general ineffectiveness...
  14. Stop treating him like an established star!
  15. WIL he or won't he? Princeton education says no, not if he wants another job in baseball. Quitting on your team with 11 games remaining would be absolutely unforgivable...unless he had a health emergency.
  16. Tigers have now won 7/8 to go from 65-78 to 72-79 K.Montero pitches tmrw afternoon vs Blue Jays (-2) in a critical game for TOR Max Scherzer looking to avoid getting battered like 7+ ERA starter Lorenzen on Tuesday...his last outing did not go well to say the least The White Sox should see Framber Valdez LHP Thurs then Tigers will have to decide whether or not to use another LHP in AAAA/spot starter Andrew Sears (LHP) that could push Jobe and Melton back to Sat and Sunday otherwise, it would be Valdez, Jobe RHP, Melton RHP, Drew Anderson RHP...which is their new regular five man rotation after trading Skubal and Mize away knowing Hinch, expect they will go to the two lefties to keep White Sox back on their heels and Venable running out crazy lineups Sears gave up 3 in 4+ to Royals on Saturday in first appearance back from AAA
  17. I'm so fucking pissed. And I got a sinking feeling that was coming in the 9th given what CLE has been pulling recently. Just get back on the horse and win tomorrow. But damn we had them there about to be put in a vise and ofcourse they fucking escape again. Take the rubber match, let's fucking go
  18. Kwan is one of the hottest hitters in baseball the last two months also lhb against Taylor retire Bailey and you don't have to face either guy there
  19. Is that an AI prediction or are you just talking about baseball?
  20. Sox would not be in the race if it wasn't for Chase and Antonacci in the same line-up. There are trade-offs in defense to be made for Antonacci who is learning a new position, but he hits the ball and competes, so he deserves to be out there. Of course another outfielder could make a better play, but let's not forget, Sam was 2 for 4 today with an RBI and 1 for 3 yesterday with a stolen base. And he is a rookie. Chase has been stellar at times at second base and has been clutch at the plate. So it is what it is. My thinking before games is that you do not allow certain players to beat you, like Rochhio. IMO...Rochhio should not be given a pitch near the zone to hit, especially with a chance to beat you. Maybe unintentionally/intentionally walk him. I'd take my chances with bases loaded and Hicks against Kwan, but hindsight is always 20/20. My 2 cents.
  21. It doesn't take a genius to see the holes in the lineup. Why keep putting the same guys out there in the same spots over and over? Make the adjustments.
  22. "If" is the biggest little word in the world. I admire your faith especially with this franchise. And remember there may not be a next year.
  23. Venable is stubborn. I agree that he's also learning BUT he's not adjusting and keeps making the same bad managerial decisions. He might be a great player's coach and his players want to play for him but his game time decisions leave a lot to be desired.
  24. That's an unfortunate bday experience. I could not believe that play and remember getting a bad feeling when such an outstanding defensive outfielder just flat out botched a play.
  25. Keep hoping for this thread to say wil venable resigns
  26. This season Martin had 26 starts. He had the 4 starts in a row right before he was put on DL where he let up runs in the first inning. The 20 starts before he let up 1st inning runs 2x and they were 1 run each time. The last 2 starts no runs and had 10.2 innings of 1 run ball. So where in all that data do you look and think it's a good idea to start arguably your worst pitcher in the biggest game of the year? Venable gets worse and worse with each series
  27. Two factoids today: September 16, 1904 - Smack in the middle of an amazing, 45-inning scoreless streak, Guy “Doc” White painted a masterpiece: a 1-0, one-hitter over the St. Louis Browns. Without play-by-play data it’s hard to know how these games played out over a hundred years ago. But we do know that the one hit White allowed was a Tom Jones triple, so whether in the first or ninth inning, or with none out or two, that hit put the shutout and win in some jeopardy but White and the Sox were able to prevail. September 16, 2007 - Sox slugger Jim Thome joined an exclusive club when he hammered his 500th career home run in the ninth inning of a White Sox 9-7 win over the Angels at U.S. Cellular Field. Thome was playing in his 2,000th career game when he connected off Dustin Moseley for the win. The Sox trailed 7-1 at one point before coming back. It was the first time that the 500th home run for a player was a walk off winner. Jim would hit 134 home runs in a White Sox uniform.
