The Milwaukee Brewers have a total tax payroll of $153,579,922 for the 2026 season...good for 19th and $50 million more than these current White Sox. Not to mention the new Rays Angels and Rockies ownership groups will likely improve those franchises. Only the Guardians and Rays can survive/even thrive, in the Bottom 5 in terms of payroll. Not that spending big actually guarantees a WS winner....it increases odds dramatically.

I love that you think you get to decide what the Sox need. Under this regime and stadium they are literally last in MLB in revenues, and we have all seen 45 of the last 46 years end in failure. You get what you pay for after all, right? I get you have no standards and are easily satisfied with Perfectly Fine Field, but I would actually like to see this franchise have an opportunity to be competitive on an annual basis, and not just when the stars align. Th8s team NEEDS more revenue if it wants to be more than an occasional post season surprise.

Also, for many years, the Dodgers and Angels had some of the most affordable tickets and best attendance...the Dodgers still do, in fact. All that despite the high cost of living in SoCal. And maybe it was partially a trade off for many fans who couldn't access their games on tv for a number of years due to a previous owner's runaway greed to pad his own pockets on the backs of a historic franchise through that crazy RSN deal. But you certainly don't have to run middle class fans and families off by making the sport completely unaffordable, like a trip to Disneyland, either.

The White Sox do not have not needed a new stadium (for 40 years?). I doubt some of the complainers have been to many games or parts of the Rate other than the cheap seats on the 500 level. The Rate is like many other stadiums, you get what you pay for. Personally, I take advantage of premium seating based on my age and financial ability, but there are many other areas in the park where fans can enjoy the outfield concourses...and I buy seats in the outfield (162,163) quite often. I love the location on the South side, easy parking next to the stadium, and not having to drive back downtown heavy traffic.
