They are. They are also a few years away. Smith might be in the bigs very soon.

The ticket prices are doubled for Tuesday's game. Me and my 2 college bound boys are going to wait it out and go Wednesday night to the game before they head back to school. I need to save all the money I can so I can pay Champaign-Urbana..........😄

Doesn't that make not overspending prospect capital more important? This is the entire point.

Aren't Thome and Prosek also projected as high ceiling hitters, moreso than plus plus fielders?

Tigers lead the AL in run differential. Tigers are 8th in MLB in pitching and ahead of Sox in hitting and fielding. Tigers are 8th in payroll. On paper, tigers take the AL Central. Play on grass, not paper, but tigers have to be team to beat. We face jobe, melton and valdez next week on end in Detroit. Not easy.

8/9 Games
Honestly, who cares if pitchers don't like throwing to him at this point lol.

I get it. I think he's more of a 3rd catcher, bench bat type. Maybe LF.

Catchers, Catchers, Anywhere?
I am looking for anything positive for Quero, I agree with you about yesterday's game. If Q could get back to his 2025 form it would be awesome.
-
Catchers, Catchers, Anywhere?
Quero had a good game yesterday and showed a lot of plate discipline......being selective usually leads to hitting that ball hard. I would still bring up Haase and send Romo down.

Smith's season is insane. Getz must also be insane. 77 walks? .626 slugging. He's gotten better with every promotion. IDK, but I wouldn't have traded him.

Very nice bounce back series win. I have been saying this and will continue to say this...........Guardians and Twins do not worry me as much as Detroit. They trade away Skubal and Mize but yet find random guys holding teams to 3 runs or less. They also have a pedigree they have created the last 3 years of knowing how to win.

Facing the Reds at home is an historic moment. Historically uninteresting. zzzz

The Tigers are the team to worry bout. A lot of people wrote them off after losing Skubal and Mize but I think they are playing a lot looser without all the daily drama of will Skubal be dealt or no. Both of their rookies McGonigle and Clark have really energized them and their young starting pitchers Melton and Jobe along with Valdez have been really stepping up. Melton looks like a real problem. He is 7-1 with a 1.46 ERA and a 0.90 WHIP. However their last 16 games have been against KC, Baltimore, the A's, Seattle and SF. They have 7 games left against the Sox and Clev and 6 with the Twins. I think it's going to take 86 wins to claim the Division.

If he's a good hitter, they'll find time for him to play. Especially with injuries and especially if he sticks at catcher. The guy they traded for sucks. That's the big problem with the trade.

Now something negative - Chsn freezes during commercial breaks like twice a game and I have to exit and restart. Drives me nuts

Catchers, Catchers, Anywhere?
Getz will have to ride it out with Quero/Romo the rest of the season, or until Bart or Teel possibly return. The timeline on Teel's rehab/ return is dubious. I suppose if any player could overcome the odds, it is him. He has the heart of a lion.

He was at #15 on the list.

White sox aquire Jose Urquidy from pirates
I'm sure they'll start Burke, Castillo and Kay vs the Reds, right? Martin would be up Friday and they'd need someone for Saturday

Something has to give with Martin and also the #5 position.

I wish Boston Smith was on that list. 5 more HRs since the trade. We might really regret that trade.

Alex Weingartner's speed and arm are really impressive. I would love to see him patrolling CF at the Rate down the road.
